TNEA 2018: Anna University to release the random numbers for counselling
Anna University will begin with TNEA 2018 random number generation on June 5 at the Centre for Entrance Examinations and Admissions. TNEA random numbers will be released for applicants who registered themselves for admissions into the undergraduate engineering programmes offered at 535 colleges in the state through TNEA.
The link to access the random number will be made available on the official website of Anna University. These random numbers are used at the time of seat allotment when two candidates have same rank and the authorities face difficulty in their evaluation.
Steps to check TNEA 2018 random numbers
Step 1: Visit the official website
Step 2: Click on the “TNEA 2018 Random Number” link
Step 3: Enter application number and submit
Step 4: TNEA 2018 random number will be displayed on the screen
Candidates are requested to note down and preserve their respective random numbers for future reference or until the admissions process is successfully conducted.
TNEA 2018 registration process have now concluded. The process commenced on May 3 and the last date to apply was May 30. The random numbers are typically released within a week of the last date of application submission. TNEA 2018 counselling process is likely to commence from the third week of June. A notification on the same will also be released on the official website of Anna University in due time.

A total of 42 Facilitation Centres have been set up by TNEA authorities across the state of Tamil Nadu for the process of document verification. TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFSc) are authorised centres set up by the TNEA conducting authorities. Furthermore, TFCs also help the candidates who face difficulty while filling the applications online.
The counselling is conducted in three phases and spread over a period of 5 days. TNEA counselling process includes Registrations and Applications, Document Verification and final Counselling for the allotment of seats. From this, year TNEA counselling will be conducted completely online.
A total of 571 engineering institutes are likely to participate in TNEA 2018 counselling. Through TNEA, candidates willing to seek admissions in the undergraduate engineering programmes will be offered seats into the University Departments/Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, Annamalai University, the seats surrendered by the Self - Financing Engineering Colleges mentioned in the list of participating institutes as released by the authorities.
