TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) 2018 counselling process by Anna University will commence on July 25. The counselling process will comprise a total of five rounds and would be held at 42 TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFC) established across Tamil Nadu. TFCs are authorised centres set up by the TNEA conducting authorities. Furthermore, TFCs also help the candidates who face difficulty while filling the applications online.

The University will also conduct supplementary counselling two days after the general counselling rounds are over. The supplementary counselling rounds will be held at Anna University, Chennai.

After a delay in completing the medical counselling, the University had approached the Supreme Court to extend the deadline for engineering admissions. Earlier, the deadline fixed by All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was July 30.

The apex court has now granted Anna University the permission to finish TNEA 2018 counselling before August 31. 

Steps to fill online applications of TNEA 2018:

  • Visit the official website - https://tnea.ac.in  
  • Click on the “New Registrations” tab given at the bottom of the home page
  • Get yourself registered by filling in the required details
  • Once registered, the candidates will be asked to make the payment of the requisite application fee
  • When the payment is successfully made, the page will be redirected to the online application form
  • Fill in all the fields carefully and upload the scanned copies of the required documents
  • Click on submit and then take a print out of the filled in application form for future reference

For Anna University admission to the BE courses via TNEA, a good rank would depend on the category. For the General AI, the cutoff ranged from 28 to 239138 for the BE CSE course.
