To be eligible for BTech admissions at IIT Guwahati, candidates need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects for Class 12 board exams.

Most schools in India only offer the aforementioned subjects together in the Science stream. Thus, the Science stream is mandatory for IIT Guwahati BTech admission.

Recruiters in India do not give value to online BTech courses anymore as they are not recognised by the AICTE and UGC and are considered invalid at present. The problem with online BTech degree is that it restricts your practical learning experience and limits your networking opportunities, both of which are very important in today's world to get a decent job in the market.

All of the top recruiters want a skilled pool of people who have a good knowledge of the technical know-how and have the right set of skills to be able to contribute to the growth of their business model. The clear answer to this question is no. An online BTech degree is considered invalid in India after the strict guidelines of AICTE and UGC because they give a lot of value to practical training and classroom learning, which is not possible in the online mode of learning. Yes, Gauhati University provides a four-year BTech programme across four specialisations through Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology. Divided into eight semesters of six months’ duration, admission to all the BTech courses is subject to a valid score in the Assam CEE entrance exam or JEE Main. Furthermore, students also have an option to secure lateral entry admission directly to the second year or third semester of the BTech course. Admission to BTech Lateral Entry courses is subject to a valid score in JLEE Assam exam. The total number of BTech seats at Dibrugarh University is 271. This is further divided across the four specialisations offered at the university.
