Q:   When will WBJEE 2024 admit card be released?

WBJEE 2024 admit card is now available. Candidates can now access the WBJEE admit card 2024 online at wbjeeb.nic.in by logging in using the required credentials. WBJEE admit card will consist of important details such as the allotted exam date, time, centre, guidelines and more. While reporting at the exam centre, the candidates will have to produce their WBJEE admit card along with an identity proof. 

 

Q:   What is the duration of WBJEE?

A:

According to the WBJEE exam pattern, the duration of the entrance examination is 4 hours. For each paper i.e., Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry), 2 hours have been allotted, and the candidates will have to complete both the sections within the allotted duration. Multiple-choice questions of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have to be answered by the candidates within 4 hours. No extra time will be provided to the candidates to complete the entrance examination.

WBJEE 2024 exam date has been announced. The authorities conducted WBJEE 2024 on April 28. WBJEE 2024 was held as a pen-and-paper-based test at 22 districts in West Bengal. However, the examination was also held in Assam (Silchar) and Tripura (Agartala). While filling out the WBJEE application form, the candidates had to select their preferred exam city preferences. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level exam conducted by WBJEEB. Marking Scheme

Category I - Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

Category II - Only one option is correct, the correct response yields two marks. An incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 (25% negative) mark.

Category III - One or more options may be correct. Only correct responses will yield 2(two) marks. There is no negative marking.

WBJEE 2024 Counselling

WBJEE 2024 counselling dates will be announced soon. All qualified candidates will have to participate in the WBJEE counselling 2024 for admission into the BTech courses offered by the participating institutes. To be registered for the admission process, the candidates will have to fill out the WBJEE 2024 counselling form and submit their choice of colleges and courses in the order of preference. After the final date, no requests for choice filling will be accepted. WBJEE 2024 seat allotment results will be announced online. The allotment will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability. Separate allotments will be announced for the different rounds. All of the allotted candidates will have to confirm their admissions before the final date, otherwise, their allotment will be cancelled. 

Q:   Will I be considered for WBJEE counselling as I forgot to fill the choice of colleges?

A:
No. All candidates are required to fill out their choice of colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to advance into the WBJEE seat allotment process if they have not selected their colleges and courses in the order of preference. All of the selection has to be done and submitted before the final date. Since WBJEE seat allotment will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability, the candidates will have to carefully select their choices during the counselling process.
 

Q:   Which rank will be considered for WBJEE counselling? General rank or obc rank?

A:
During the WBJEE counselling process, admissions will be done based on the candidate's rank obtained in the General Merit List. While the general rank will be considered for admissions, the cutoff will also be one of the deciding factors for the allotment of seats. WBJEE admission cutoff will be different for every category, college and course. Therefore, the candidates are advised to check the previous years' cutoffs to know the trends. The opening rank and closing rank for admissions is released through the WBJEE cutoff.
 

Q:   Which candidates are not eligible for the second round of WBJEE counselling?

A:

There are certain candidates who will not be eligible to participate in the second round of WBJEE counselling. Firstly, those candidates who have been allotted their first preference in Round 1 of WBJEE counselling will not be allowed to participate in the next rounds. Candidates who have not registered for the counselling process in the first round will also not be eligible for the second round. However, unregistered candidates will be able to register and fill out their choices for the mop-up round of WBJEE counselling.

 

WBJEE 2024 Result

The authorities have released the WBJEE 2024 result. Candidates can access their obtained scores and rank in the entrance examination through the WBJEE result 2024. To check the result of WBJEE 2024, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and date of birth. WBJEE GMR is the General Merit List released by WBJEEB for admission to all the courses available in all enlisted Engineering and Technology Colleges and Universities within the state of West Bengal. The list will be prepared based on the candidate scores obtained in all the subjects (i.e. Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) in WBJEE 2024. Ranking in the GMR WBJEE merit list will be prepared in descending order of total marks scored in all the subjects as stated above. However, there may also be ties and in such cases, the tie breaking rule shall be applicable for determining the merit rank.

 

WBJEE 2024 Answer Key

WBJEE 2024 model answer key is available online. Candidates can check the correct responses to the question paper through the WBJEE answer key 2024. Using the WBJEE answer key, the candidates will be able to calculate their probable secured scores. The authorities have also released the WBJEE 2024 OMR sheets and response sheets. If candidates fail to bring their admit card and identity proof, they will not be allowed to attempt WBJEE 2024. WBJEE 2024 Application Form

WBJEE 2024 application form was released online at wbjeeb.nic.in. The authorities did not accept any other mode of application. Eligible candidates had to complete the WBJEE 2024 registration process by February 5, 2024. While filling out the WBJEE application form, the candidates were required to provide their personal, academic and contact details as per the candidate's official documents. The given steps could be followed to register for WBJEE 2024. Since the application process is over, the candidates can check the steps for reference.

  • Registration: Firstly, the candidates had to visit wbjeeb.nic.in and register for WBJEE 2024 by providing the basic details. The application number was generated after the registration process was completed.
  • Filling out the form: Next, the candidates had to fill out the application form with their personal, academic and contact details. All of the provided information had to be as per the candidate's documents. The preferred WBJEE 2024 exam centre also had to be selected in the order of preference. 
  • Uploading of documents: Candidates had to upload their scanned photographs and signatures as per the specifications mentioned by the authorities.
  • Payment of fee: The required fee had to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. No other mode of payment was accepted. If the candidates failed to pay the application fee, then their applications were not accepted.

WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The authorities have announced the official WBJEE 2024 eligibility criteria. Candidates were advised to check the WBJEE eligibility criteria 2023 before registering for the entrance examination. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility norms will not be considered for admission into the participating institutes of the state. The WBJEE eligibility criteria might vary for different courses and at the institute level. 

Eligibility criteria for appearing in WBJEE 2024

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen

Age restriction

  • Candidate must be at least 17 years of age as of the admission year. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the exam.
  • However, for admission to the Marine Engineering Course, the lower age limit is 17 years as of December 31, 2024, and the upper age limit is 25 years as of December 31, 2024.   

WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admissions

  • The candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of the listed below subjects as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all three subjects in regular class mode. 
    • Chemistry
    • Biotechnology
    • Biology
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Application
    • Technical Vocational Subject
  • Must have secured a minimum of 45 per cent marks (40 per cent in the case of candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Candidates should have qualified English in the Class 12 exam with at least 30 per cent marks.
  • The Board of the Qualifying Examination must be recognised by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

Q:   How can I select the WBJEE exam centre?

A:

Candidates will be able to select their choice of WBJEE exam centres online while filling out the application form. During the form filling process, the candidates will have to select and submit three preferred WBJEE 2024 exam zones. The selection of the zones have to be done in the order of preference. The authorities will allot WBJEE exam centres as per the candidate's preference and the corresponding availability. In case the candidate's first preference is not available, then the second choice will be considered.

WBJEE application fee is INR 500 (General Male Candidates) or INR 400 (General Female and all Male Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/TFW) or INR 300 (All Female Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/TFW and Third Gender Candidates). Q:   When will WBJEE 2024 application form correction facility start?

A:

WBJEE 2024 application form correction facility was open until February 9, 2024. The registered candidates were able to access the WBJEE application form 2024 correction facility online. During the correction process, the candidates were able to edit/correct some of the details that was previously submitted in the form. After the final date, the authorities did not accept any requests for corrections in the WBJEE application form.

Q:   Why is WBJEE written exam important?

A:
Admissions to the B.Tech and B.Pharma courses offered at colleges in West Bengal are done through the WBJEE exam. This makes it mandatory for candidates to appear for the exam and then participate in the e-counselling for seat allotment.
 

Q:   What are the scholarship schemes offered in West Bengal through WBJEE?

A:

The authorities will offer scholarships to WBJEE candidates under the Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme. Candidates who have performed well in their academics and have secured good scores in WBJEE will be eligible for the scholarships. The details regarding the scholarship schemes will be released online by the authorities. Candidates are advised to check the scholarship details carefully to know if they are eligible for the exam or not.

 

Q:   Will WBJEE 2024 be postponed?

A:

No. WBJEE 2024 was not postponed and was held as scheduled. WBJEE 2024 was conducted at various examination centres as a pen-and-paper-based test. Once the application process began, the candidates were advised to complete registration and fill out their details as soon as possible. WBJEE 2024 consisted of multiple-choice questions prepared from topics of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
