IAS Exam Date 2025: UPSC Civil Services Prelims, Mains & Interview Schedule

The Union Public Service Commission has released the UPSC Civil Service (IAS) main result 2025 online on its portal - upsc.gov.in. The Commission released the UPSC Civil Service Main result with names and roll number separately. The Commission selected 2,736 candidates for the UPSC Civil Service Main(Interview) stage. The candidates have the opportunity to change the details mentioned in their initial application form or verify the existing details. The candidates can do such changes from November 13 to 27 at upsconline.gov.in. The Commission will release the interview schedule later.
The UPSC Civil Service Exam 2026 notification will be released on January 14. The candidates will get 20 days to fill out the UPSC Civil Service application form and the last date to apply online for the UPSC IAS 2026 will be February 3, 2026.

The IAS prelims exam is conducted offline in a pen and paper mode. The IAS prelims exam is conducted in two shifts on a single day. The candidates are required to appear in both the papers and clear both of them. The IAS prelims result is prepared based on the marks scored in the General Studies paper 1. The IAS prelims General Studies paper 2 is qualifying only.
The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the IAS 2026 exam on May 24, 2026. The Commission is expected to release the IAS admit card online in the last week of April 2026.
The Union Public Service Commission conduct the Civil Service Exam once in a year. The Commission releases the IAS notification in February. IAS prelims and main exam is conducted once every year. The IAS prelims exam is conducted on the last Sunday of May and the main exam starts on third Friday of September. The candidates who clear the prelims exam are allowed to appear in the main exam. The UPSC also releases the result of all the stages of the exam once in a year.

The Commission do not mention the dates for the UPSC admit card in the official exam calendar.

The Commission selected 2,845 candidates to appear in the UPSC IAS interviews. The Commission will conudct the IAS interviews from January 7, 2025 to April 17, 2025.
