The Mains exam of SBI PO is conducted in around 70 cities. The Mains exam comprises objective-type and descriptive-type questions. Total marks allotted to the test are 250. 

SBI PO prelims exam is conducted in 200 cities. The details regarding the SBI PO exam centre will be mentioned on the admit card. The admit card comprises details such as the candidate's name, roll number, category, exam date, time, details of exam centre, scanned photograph, and signature. Candidates need to appear for the exam in the centres allotted to them. The admit card of candidates are verified at the exam centres. Candidates should keep the authenticated prelims admit card and photo-identity proof safely because they will require it at the time of the Mains exam. Candidates without the Mains admit card will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

Candidates must bring stationery such as pencils, glue, eraser, ink stamp pad and ballpoint pen with them to the examination hall. Electronic items are not allowed.

SBI PO admit cards for different stages of exams are made available online on the official website. Candidates need to enter the required login credentials to download their admit cards. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. The admit card of SBI PO contains the following details.

The starting basic is INR 41,960 (with 4 advance increments). Candidates are also eligible for DA, HRA/Lease rental, CCA. Candidates also get Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. In-hand salary ranges between INR 52,000 to 55,000 per month. SBI PO pay scale is INR 36,000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840. Candidates are selected to the post of  Junior Management Grade Scale-I. Selected candidates are required to sign a bond of INR 2 lakh, Candidates are required to serve the bank for a minimum period of three years. The officers will be on probation for two years. Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the prelims exam, mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises and interview.

The prelims exam of SBI PO is conducted in four shifts while the Mains exam is conducted in two shifts. SBI PO prelims shift timings are 9 AM to 10 AM, 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, 2 pm to 3 pm and 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm. SBI PO Mains exam timings are 2 pm to 3 pm and 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The selection process of SBI PO comprises prelims exam, Mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises & interview. Final selection is done based on the Mains exam and group exercises and interview. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit. The prelims exam is only to screen candidates for the Mains exam. SBI PO prelims exam is conducted for 100 marks. The test paper carries questions from English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. The mains exam carries both subjective and objective type questions. Total marks allotted to the mains exam are 250. The Group Exercises and Interview carries 50 marks.

Candidates can choose one SBI PO exam city each for prelims and Mains exams. They are required to enter their preferences for exam cities while filling out the form. The exam centres are allotted to candidates as per their preferences. But, in case of unavailability of exam centres, candidates are allotted to the exam centre other than the one selected by them. You can not change the test centre after the final submission of the application. Candidates should choose the exam centres carefully as it cannot be changed later.

Once the SBI PO admit card is released, candidates face problem in downloading their hall tickets due to heavy load at the server. In such case, candidates are not required to panic rather they should keep calm and try to download the SBI PO admit card after a gap of five minutes. It is always good to download the admit at night. SBI PO admit card is released online on the official website. To download the admit card, candidates are required to enter registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post.

After downloading the SBI PO admit card, candidates must check all the details printed on it carefully. For spelling error in the name, candidates must immediately report to the examination authority after the admit card is released. After correction, the examination authority issues a fresh SBI PO admit card. The identity of candidates is verified at the entry gate of the exam centre as per the photo-identity proof. If there is any mismatch of information, candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates are required to carry one valid photo-identity proof to the exam centre. The photo-identity proofs that candidates can carry are Passport/PAN Card/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook/ Duly attested Photograph/Identity Card issued by School or College/ Gazetted Officer/ Aadhaar Card.

Yes, there are sectional timings in SBI PO prelims and Mains exam. To answer each section in the prelims exam, candidates get 20 minutes. For descriptive test, candidates get 30 minutes. The duration of the Reasoning & Computer Aptitude is 50 minutes, Data Analysis & Interpretation is 45 minutes, General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness is 45 minutes and English Language section is 40 minutes. 

The examination authority decides category-wise SBI PO cut off marks to select candidates for the next rounds of selection process. There is no sectional cut off marks. Candifdates need to secure only the overall cut off.

The prelims and mains exams of SBI PO are conducted online. The prelims exam of SBI PO carries a total of 100 marks. The mains exam of SBI PO carries 250 marks. Candidates qualifying the prelims exam are called for the mains exam. However, the marks of the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list.
