SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern 2025
Before proceeding to the exam analysis, let’s know the SBI PO mains exam pattern. The mains exam comprises sections such as Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Awareness / Economy/ Banking Knowledge, and a descriptive test. Candidates need to secure qualifying marks in both the objective and descriptive part. The total marks allotted to the test are 250. There are no negative marks for Descriptive paper. SBI PO Mains Marking Scheme
The marking scheme for mains exam is given below.
- For incorrect answers, one-fourth of marks assigned to a particular question in the objective test are deducted as penalty to arrive at the corrected scores
- There is no negative marking for the subjective part of the Mains exam
- If a question is left blank, there will be no penalty for that question

SBI PO normalisation is not grace marks. The normalisation of marks is done to adjust the difficulty level of the question papers across various sessions. This process is followed since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. The difficulty levels of the question papers are different.

The starting basic SBI PO salary is INR 41,960 (with 4 advance increments). SBI PO pay scale is INR 36,000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840. The officials are also eligible for DA, HRA/Lease rental, CCA, Medical, and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.

Yes. There is negative marking in the SBI PO exam in both Prelims and Mains for the objective-type questions. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks or 1/4th marks are deducted but for un attempted or skipped questions none of the marks are deducted.

The application fee for the SBI PO exam varies or differs as per the categories. For General and OBC category it is INR 750 and for SC/ST/PwBD there is no fee it is exempted.
