Overview

SBI PO Recruitment 2026: The State Bank of India (SBI) is expected to soon publish SBI PO recruitment notification. The notification will be released in  PDF form. SBI PO application form will be released published after the notification was released. The application form filling deadline will be notified by the examination authority. The application fee needs to be paid online only, which is INR 750 for General and OBC candidates. SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from fee payment. Any graduate candidate can apply for the exam.

SBI Clerk Eligibility

SBI PO eligibility is prescribed by the examination authority. It highlights details such as qualification, age limit, number of good attempts. Candidates need to fulfil the following SBI PO eligibility criteria:

  • SBI PO age limit of candidates should be between 21 and 30 years 
  • Any graduate candidate can apply for the exam. Final year graduation candidates can apply for the exam provisionally. When called for the interview, they need to show the degree pass certificate 
  • There is also capping in the number of attempts. The number of chances for the General category is four and OBC is Seven. There is no limit to the number of attempts for SC and ST candidates

Q:   Can a 12th pass apply for SBI PO?

SBI PO eligibility is fixed by the examination authority. Graduation is required to apply for the exam. Candidates cannot appear after completing Class 12. The age for the exam is  21 and 30 years.

A: 

The age limit for applying to SBI PO was between 21 and 30 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to reserved category.The educational qualification prescribed for SBI PO is Graduation. Final year Graduation candidates can apply provisionally provided they need to submit the pass Certificate of degree exam at the time of interview. Candidates holding Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) can also apply. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant can also apply.There are also restrictions in the number of attempts. The number of attempts for General category is 4, General (PwD) category is 7, OBC is 7, OBC (PwD) is 7. There is no restriction for SC/ST (PwD). Candidates with a record of default in repayment of loans/ credit card dues / or against whose name adverse reports of CIBIL or other external agencies are available are not eligible for appointment.

Q:   What if I am not able to save SBI PO application form details?
A: 

In the event of candidates not being able to fill the SBI PO application form data in one go, they can save the data already entered by using the 'Save' button. Candidates need to login with their required credentials to complete the application process. After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking. In case of any problem in filling up the form, payment of fee/ intimation charges or receipt of Admission/call letter, queries can be made on the phone number-022-22820427 (between 11:00 AM to 06:00 PM on working days) or lodge their query on http://cgrs.ibps.in. SBI PO Recruitment: Vacancies & Salary

The number of SBI PO vacancies is determined by SBI as per their business requirement. A total of 541 vacancies were announced for SBI PO 2025 exam. Currently, the basic SBI PO salary is INR 48,960 (With four advance increments). The pay scale for Junior Management Grade Scale I is  INR 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920. Besides, candidates are also entitled to DA, HRA/Lease rental, CCA, Medical, and other allowances. The approximate CTC at the initial scale of at Mumbai Centre is INR 18.67 Lakh.

Q:   What is the process after being selected as SBI PO?
A: 

On joining, the selected candidates will be designated as Probationary Officers and may be on probation for two years. They will be subjected to continuous assessment, as per Bank’s extant policy, during the probation period. Those candidates who qualify in the assessment as per standards determined by the Bank from time to time, will be confirmed in the Service of the Bank in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I).

Q:   What is the selection process of SBI PO exam?
A: 

The selection process of SBI PO comprises prelims exam, Mains exam, psychometric test, group exercises & interview. Final selection is done based on the Mains exam and group exercises and interview. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit. The prelims exam is only to screen candidates for the Mains exam. SBI PO prelims exam is conducted for 100 marks. The test paper carries questions from English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 100. The mains exam carries both subjective and objective type questions. Total marks allotted to the mains exam are 250. The Group Exercises and Interview carries 50 marks.

The admit card of SBI PO is released separately for pre-exam training, preliminary exam, mains exam and Interview or Group Exercises & Interview. Candidates can access their SBI PO admit card online by logging with registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. SBI does not provide separate window to edit SBI PO application form. Candidates can edit the details entered in the application form within the prescribed application deadline. Request for change/correction in the data entered in the SBI PO application form is not entertained after it is finally submitted. Candidates are advised to fill up the online application carefully and enter the correct information in the application. Candidates can make changes to the application form before its final submission. Editing of SBI PO application form is allowed only thrice. Candidates need to fill SBI PO application form online. They are not required to submit the hard copy of the application form.

Q:   What is the revised salary of SBI PO?

Presently, the starting basic pay is INR 48,480 (Plus 4 advance increments) in the scale of 48480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The official will be eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, PF, Contributory Pension Fund i.e., NPS, LFC, Medical Facility, Lease rental facility etc. and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. SBI has introduced a Psychometric Test in Phase III of SBI PO exam pattern. The psychometric test is personality profiing of candidates who are selected for Phase III of SBI PO exam. The examination authority decides category-wise SBI PO cut off marks to select candidates for the next rounds of selection process. There is no sectional cut off marks. Candifdates need to secure only the overall cut off.

A: 

SBI PO normalisation is not grace marks. The normalisation of marks is done to adjust the difficulty level of the question papers across various sessions. This process is followed since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts. The difficulty levels of the question papers are different.

Yes. There is negative marking in the SBI PO exam in both Prelims and Mains for the objective-type questions. For every wrong answer 0.25 marks or 1/4th marks are deducted but for un attempted or skipped questions none of the marks are deducted.

The application fee for the SBI PO exam varies or differs as per the categories. For General and OBC category it is INR 750 and for SC/ST/PwBD there is no fee it is exempted.
