Q:   Why is SBI PO so tough?
A:
There are multiple reasons why clearing the SBI PO exam becomes tough compared to other banking exams. Some of these reasons are: 1. Limited number of attempts: This makes aspirants feel pressured to qualify within the allotted number of attempts. 2. Time constraints: Candidates have one hour to complete 100 questions in the preliminary exam and three hours to complete 155 questions in the main exam. 3. Negative marking: There is one-fourth negative marking of 0.25 marks, which increases the challenge. 4. Tricky questions, such as from the reasoning and data interpretation sections, consume a lot of time. 5. High competition: Candidates appearing for the SBI PO exam are not only huge in numbers but also diverse. A B.Tech graduate may have to compete with an MBA graduate. 6. Sectional cut offs: The candidates need to clear section-wise cutoffs separately, and therefore, aspirants need to score well in all sections. 7. The GD and PI rounds: The group discussion and interview rounds are the final and most challenging.
Q:   How many marks are allotted for Group Exercises and Interview in SBI PO exam?
A:
The maximum marks allotted for Group Exercises and Interview are 50. In the Interview and Group Exercises, candidates are judged on the basis of their personality and intelligence. There are no sectional cutoff marks in SBI PO exam. Candidates need to secure the overall cutoff marks fixed by the examination authority for the different stages of exam. There is SBI PO negative marking for wrong answers in SBI PO exam. One-fourth marks will be deducted as penalty for wrong answers in SBI PO exam. For correct answers, candidates score one mark.
Q:   What is the standard of SBI PO syllabus?
A:
The standard of SBI PO syllabus is of graduation level. The syllabus of SBI PO is different for prelims and Mains exams. SBI PO syllabus for the prelims exam comprises topics from Quantitative Aptitude (QA), English Language, and Reasoning Ability. The syllabus for the Mains exam comprises topics from Quantitative Aptitude (QA), English Language, and Reasoning Ability. SBI PO syllabus is given below: Reasoning Ability: Logical Reasoning, Data Sufficiency, Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Input-Output and many more. English Language: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Para Jumbles, Fill in the blanks, Multiple Meaning /Error Spotting, etc. Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Simple Interest & Compound Interest & Surds & Indices, Time & Distance, Work & Time, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Data Interpretation, Number Systems, etc. General Awareness: Current Affairs, Financial Awareness, General Knowledge, Static Awareness, Banking Terminologies Knowledge, Banking Terminologies Knowledge, Principles of Insurance
Q:   What is the weightage of marks in SBI PO exam?
A:
The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. Final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam and group exercises and interview. Out of 100, the weightage of marks given to the Mains exam are 75. The weightage of marks given to the interview and group discussion are 25. The merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam, group exercuses and interview.
