How to Fill Online Application Form for DU Admissions 2017
DU application process for UG courses in which admission is offered on the basis of merit has commenced from May 22, 2017 onwards. DU application process for UG courses in which admission is done on the basis of candidates' performance in entrance exams is scheduled to start on May 31, 2017.
All candidates interested in Delhi University admissions 2017 for UG courses need to register themselves in the online mode on the official website of the varsity once the applications are out.
Details on how to fill the application form for DU admissions 2017 are mentioned below. Candidates must note that there is a common DU application form for admission in all UG courses offered at Delhi University and its affiliated colleges.
Step 1: Create Login ID
As a first time user, candidates need to sign up by filling the New User Sign Up form available on the online portal of DU admissions 2017. Details that need to be filled in the form include applicant’s name, email ID, password, and mobile number. After filling the details, candidates need to click the “Register” button.
On clicking the button, a confirmation is sent on the registered email/ mobile number of the candidate. To proceed further, candidates must visit DU UG Admissions 2017 portal by clicking on the link, “Continue to homepage”.
Step 2: Fill the Online Application Form
This step involves logging in to the registered account and then filling the online application form for DU admissions 2017.
In the “Registered User Login” section fill the username (registered email ID) and password created at the time of account registration and click “Login”. After logging in a new page will open. Click “Apply Now” and start filling the DU application form.
It may be noted that the DU application form is divided into nine sections and each section needs to be filled completely.
Details to be filled in the DU online application form include:
• Personal Details: This section involves filling all personal details of the applicant such as name, gender, category (unreserved/ SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD), nationality, address, and date of birth. Candidates also need to fill their family details in this section such as father’s and mother’s name, occupation, office address, and mobile number as well as family income and ward quota.
After filling all the details candidates need to click the “Submit” button to go to the next section, Academic Details.
• Academic Details: Here, candidates need to provide academic details such as percentage scored in Standard X and XII, subjects taken, and name of the board.
After filling all the details, click the “Submit” button and thereafter the next section will open, which is, Course Selection.
• Course Selection: Here, candidates need to choose the courses from the drop-down list in which they wish to apply. It may be noted that there is no limitation on the number of courses in which a candidate can apply. Also, there are no extra registration charges for application in multiple courses.
After filling all the details, click the “Submit” button.
• Sports: This section requires candidates to mention if they fall under Sports category. All candidates falling in the Sports category need to further fill details such as the sport’s name, college name, and certificate details of the relevant sport.
Candidates can also apply for more than one sport, if applicable. For this, candidates need to save the details and choose the next sport. If not applicable, candidates can proceed to the next section, ECA after clicking the “Submit” button.
• ECA: Similar to the Sports section, candidates need to specify if they fall under Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) category. Candidates applying under ECA category need to furnish details such as name of the ECA activity, name of the college, and details of the ranking/ certificates. Here also candidates can apply for more than one ECA activity, if applicable.
After filling all the details, click the “Submit” button to proceed to the next section.
• Bank Details: In this section, candidates need to put bank details for the refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission.
• Mandatory Uploads: Here, candidates need to upload the below-mentioned documents:
a) Passport size photo (specification is same as that used in Indian passport)
b) Scanned signature
c) Self-attested copy of Class X certificate
d) Self-attested copy of Class XII mark-sheet. Note if the mark-sheet is not yet issued by the board, candidates need to download the mark-sheet from the respective board website and upload it.
e) Self-attested copy of SC/ST/OBC/PwD/KM/CW certificate, if applicable
f) Self-attested copy of income certificate, if applicable
g) Self-attested copy of Sport certificate, if applicable
h) Self-attested copy of ECA certificate, if applicable
After uploading all the documents, candidates can preview the complete DU application form by clicking on the next section, Preview and edit it, if required. After necessary edits in each section (if required), candidates need to click the “Save” button present at the bottom of each section.
In case, candidates do not feel the need to edit the form, they can proceed to the next section, wherein they have to pay the registration fee for DU admissions 2017.
• Go for Payment: In this last section, candidates need to pay the application fee for DU registrations 2017 through debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
