JNU Admission Process 2020

The Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE) admission process has begun as the Jawaharlal Nehru University along with the National Testing Agency have commenced the online registration and filling up of the application forms from March 2, 2020 onwards. Before a candidate can apply for the desired course offered at JNU, candidates need to know the JNU admission process.

Candidates can make changes and correction to the submitted application form.

Release of JNUEE admit card

30-Apr-2020

The JNUEE admit card (hall ticket) will be released online

JNU Entrance Exam Date

11-May-2020 to 14-May-2020

The JNU entrance exam will be conducted from the following dates.

31-May-2020

The JNU entrance exam results will be announced.

JNU Eligibility Criteria

The JNU admission procedure is as such that a candidate needs to firstly meet the JNU eligibility criteria. A student needs to be eligible in order to proceed in the admission process. The general eligibility criteria set by JNU is as follows:

JNU UG Courses

  • A candidate needs to have secured a minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 from a recognised board.
  • The candidate needs to be 17 years of age.
  • Applying for any course, the candidate needs to have studied the subject in 10+2 along with similar subjects.

 

JNU PG Courses

  • The candidate needs to have done their 10+2+3 from a recognised university and should have secured a minimum of 55% in their graduation.
  • The candidate should have studied the subject as the main course in their graduation and should have studied similar subjects.
  • There is no upper age limit.

 

JNU MPhil Courses

  • The candidate should have done their Master’s from a recognised university and should have secured a minimum fo 55%.
  • The candidate should have studied the main subject as their course in Bachelors and Masters along with similar subjects.
  • There is no upper age limit.

 

JNU PhD Courses

  • The candidate should have obtained 2 years MPhil degree with at least 55% marks from a recognised University/Institution.
  • The candidate should have done at least one year MPhil with 55% marks with an additional one-year research experience from a recognised university.
  • There is no upper age limit.

Coming to the admission process of JNU, candidates can go through the following steps as mentioned below:

Step 1: Registration

The candidate needs to firstly visit the official website of JNU-NTA in order to register and apply for JNUEE. Once the candidate has reached, the student has to click on the ‘Fill Application Form-JNUEE 2020’.

Once the candidate has clicked the page, the aspirant will then have to click on ‘New Registration’. From there on, the student has to enter the details as required. Once the details have been filled, the candidate can then login in order to apply online.

Step 2: Fill and Submit Application Form

Once the login ID and password has been made, the candidate can login on the ‘Registered Candidates Sign In’ portal and proceed to fill the JNUEE application form. The candidate has to enter their application number, password and the captcha. On logging in, the candidate needs to then fill in all the details as required and asked in the application form. The candidate can opt up to three different courses. Once the details are filled, the student will have to upload the documents such as

  • Passport size photograph
  • Aadhar Card
  • Signature Image

Step 3: Pay the Application Fee

Once all the information required is filled, verify and cross-check the details once again. Then the aspirant can proceed to pay the fee which are as follows:

Once the candidate has made the payment, submit the form. Take a print out of the application form as and keep it safely as it will come handy

Step 4: Download JNUEE Admit Card

Candidates who have successfully filled and submitted the JNU application form, can download the JNUEE admit card from the official website. The JNU admit card (hall ticket) is an important document which needs to be carried to exam centre. Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam.

Step 5: Appear for JNUEE

The JNUEE 2020 will be conducted from May 11 to May 14, 2020. Candidates have to reach the allotted exam centres one time and should carry their admit card, valid identity proof and a passport-sized photograph. Latecomers will not be allowed to sit for the entrance exam.

Step 6: Declaration of JNUEE Results

The JNU entrance exam results will be declared on May 31, 2020 on the official website of JNU-NTA. Candidates will have to login in order to check the scorecard released. Qualified candidates will be notified and called for an interview at the university to complete the JNU admission process.

Once the admission process is complete, the semester will commence from July onwards.
