Commonly asked questions
Q:   Is it important to stick to the WBJEE JECA syllabus as released online?
A:

Yes. You must stick to the WBJEE JECA syllabus as released online by the authorities. If the candidates are aware of the syllabus, they will be able to make their study plan such that they have sufficient time to finish the syllabus and practice it. Knowing the syllabus will also enable the candidates to understand what is expected to be answered in the question paper.

Q:   Is one month enough for WB JECA preparation?
A:

No, one month is not sufficient time to prepare for the WBJEE JECA. The WBJEE JECA syllabus is vast, and it's not possible to cover all the topics in one month. If you have been or are a BCA student, then it can be less challenging for you since most of the subjects of WBJEE JECA and BCA are similar. You are advised to study all the subjects and solve previous year WBJEE JECA question papers. Begin practising WBJEE JECA sample papers at least 1 or 2 months before the exam to become accustomed to the exam.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   Where do I find the WBJEE JECA syllabus?
A:

WBJEE JECA syllabus is available online in the information bulletin as released by the exam authorities. Download the information bulletin and go to APPENDIX –6, page number 23. It is available online at wbjeeb.nic.in. From the syllabus, the candidates can get to know the units and topics on which they will need to prepare for the upcoming entrance exam.

Q:   Is learning from BCA/BSc IT textbook sufficient to clear WB JECA?
A:

Graduate students pursuing BCA/BSc IT can take help from their college books since the WBJEE JECA syllabus is similar to that followed in these degree programs. Numerous students who had secured top ranks in past years in the WB JECA, as well as other exams, had cited that they learned from college books.

The advantage of reading BCA/BSc IT books is that they are simple to comprehend, consist of many examples to grasp topics and even consist of numerical questions to assess performance. Students who depend on the BCA books for clearing WB JECA do have good chances to achieve a good score; however, they are advised to refer to extra books as well, apart from college books.

Q:   Are mock tests significant in WBJEE JECA preparation?
A:

Yes. The candidates are recommended to take up mock tests to be adequately prepared for WBJEE JECA. With the help of the mock tests, the candidates will get an idea of how the entrance test would be. Mock tests will also help candidates gauge their current preparation level. The candidates can recognise their frequently made errors and practice on them so that the same will not be committed in the test. Mock tests also enable candidates to enhance their time management skills.
