The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is expected to release the JECA application form 2026 in April 2026. Candidates must complete application process online through the official portal. No other application mode, such as offline or postal, is going to be accepted for WBJEE JECA exam. During the WBJEE JECA 2026 application process, candidates need to register, enter the required information, upload scanned documents, and pay the fee online via net banking/credit/debit card/UPI.

Steps to fill out the WBJEE JECA 2026 application form

Follow steps below to register yourself for WBJEE JECA-
  • Visit wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca and click the registration link.
  • Fill your basic details such as name, date of birth, mobile no. and email address.
  • Create a secure password for future login. An application no. will be generated once the registration process is complete.
  • Fill details.
  • Choose the JECA Exam Cities in order of preference.
  • Upload your scanned passport-size photo, digital signature and left thumb impression.
  • Pay application fee online through net banking/credit/debit card/UPI.
  • After paying the fee, download and print the confirmation details.

WBJEE JECA 2026 Domicile Criteria

Mandatory Domicile Status: You must be a domicile of West Bengal to apply for-

  • Any seat (including General category) in Government-aided Colleges through WBJEE JECA exam
  • Any Reserved Category seat (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS, PwD) in any institution.

Eligibility Criteria: You qualify as a domicile if you meet either condition-

  • Residency: Continuous residence in West Bengal for at least 10 years (as of December 31, 2025).
  • Parental Roots: Your parent(s) are permanent residents of West Bengal with a permanent address in the state.

Required Documentation-

  • For 10-year Residents: Must obtain and submit Proforma ‘a1’.
  • For Parental Residency: Must obtain Proforma ‘b’ OR provide two original ID documents (Voter ID, Aadhaar, Passport, or Ration Card) belonging to a parent that prove a West Bengal address.
  • Reserved Category Exception: SC/ST/OBC candidates can use a West Bengal-issued category certificate in place of a domicile certificate. In case the category certificate is found invalid, you will automatically be treated as a Non-West Bengal candidate.
  • Risk of Non-Compliance: If your domicile certificate is found invalid during counselling, you will lose eligibility for all reserved and Government-aided seats.

Q:   If I am not a domicile of West Bengal, can I still appear for JECA 2026?
A: 

Yes. You can still appear for the exam. Please note that your eligibility will be restricted to General category seats in Private (Self-Financing) Institutions only. You will not be eligible for any seats in Government Colleges or any reserved category benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/TFW).

Q:   I have lived in West Bengal for 10 years, but my parents do not have a permanent address here. Am I eligible for JECA 2026 exam?
A: 

Yes. You are eligible under the Residency Criteria. You must provide Proforma 'a1' (certified by a competent authority) proving you have resided in the state continuously for at least 10 years. You do not need to prove your parents' residency if you meet this 10-year requirement yourself.

Q:   Can I use my Aadhaar card or Voter ID as a direct substitute for a Domicile Certificate for JECA exam?
A: 

It depends on the criteria you choose-

  • If you are applying under Proforma 'a1' (10-year residency), you must have the signed certificate; IDs are not enough.
  • If you are applying under Proforma 'b' (Parental residency), you can use the original Voter ID, Aadhaar, Passport, or Ration card of your parents (any two) as proof of their permanent West Bengal address in place of the proforma.

Here are the particulars of the WBJEE JECA question paper and how to solve it -

  • WBJEE JECA question paper shall be objective types with multiple-choice questions. 

  • Four alternatives shall be given in each question, and the candidates shall choose one correct alternative.

  • The answer shall be marked by colouring the respective circle/bubble on the OMR sheet using a blue/black ink ball-point pen. 

  • All the answers must be marked carefully so that no issues are faced during evaluation.

No, you do not need to prepare for the Aptitude test as per the WBJEE JECA syllabus. The Aptitude and Mathematics section has been removed from the syllabus, and you would only need to study topics from the BCA and similar level courses.
