AILET 2022 Student Reactions and Paper Analysis

The candidates who took AILET 2022 at Delhi test centre shared the question paper analysis as under:

After taking AILET 2022, Nanda Kumar shared that the question paper was moderate, as compared to CLAT 2022 question paper, which was entirely based on passages. He added that paper was lengthy as English section had more passages, which was unexpected. I am expecting good score in AILET 2022, as for me it was easy to moderate, and I'm confident to secure a seat in NLU Delhi. I have been preparing for CLAT 2022 and AILET 2022 for the past two years, so I was prepared well for the exams.

Divyash Tyagi, who also took AILET 2022 at the same test centre, shared insights that the question paper was lengthy, and for him time was not sufficient. The question paper was pretty similar to CLAT 2022, as English section had a lot of passages, which was unxpected for us since we prepared on the basis of AILET past years papers. The logical section section was almost like CLAT 2022 as it had passage, which is not common for the NLU Delhi entrance exam. He added that Current Affairs like all the papers was difficult. The question paper was not as expected, as there were reading skills involved for all the sections, which are usually one-liners/objective.

Q:   Is AILET Exam Pattern 2026 revised?
A:

The NLU Delhi is yet to release the exam pattern of AILET LLM 2026. However, the exam pattern was previously went modification in the year 2024, within which the duration of the exam was changed and the descriptive section in the exam for the AILET PG Exam course was removed. Candidates must check the revised exam pattern of AILET 2026 and the syllabus of AILET 2026 while doing their AILET 2026 preparation. The NLU Delhi will release the AILET 2026 Exam Pattern online on the NLU Delhi official website.

Q:   What is the exam pattern of AILET 2026 for BA LLB course?
A:

The exam pattern of AILET BA LLB 2026 is expected to be same as previous years. The BA LLB course exam pattern for AILET 2026 will be as under:

Subject

Questions per section

English Language

50 questions

Current Affairs & General Knowledge

30 questions

Logical Reasoning

70 questions

Total

150

AILET question papers for BA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD courses have different structures therefore, candidates should check the exam pattern for their respective courses before taking the exam. Check details about the exam pattern of AILET 2026 including test medium, timings, and sectional weightage.

Q:   What is the marking scheme of AILET for BA LLB?
A:

The marking scheme for AILET will be as under-

  • +1 mark each correct answer
  • -0.25 marks for each incorrect attempt.
  • No marks will be awarded or deducted for questions not attempted

Another test-taker, Priya Sharma shared that the exam was easy but lengthy. She added that logical reasoning and English sections was too much time-taking.

Suhani Bansal shared the exam moderate, as English section was hard as it had passages that were difficult to attempt. Logical Reasoning section was easy comparatively. Whereas, the GK and Current Affairs section was tough. I am expecting a 90+ cut off for AILET 2022.

Jatin Singh, who have already secured a seat at RMNLU Lucknow (in the provisional seat allotment), gave AILET exam a second attempt this year. He shared that the question paper was unexpected, as the GK section was based on Venn Diagrams. Whereas, for Reading section, which is generally short/one liners, required us to read a lot before attempting the questions. As compared to last year, the question paper was difficult. I am expecting a low cutoff, since the question paper was more on difficult side of the scale.

Salvi, who also took AILET 2022, shared the question paper was moderate, and time was not sufficient to attempt all the questions. She also added that the formalities like admit card, OMR fillup took 15-20 minutes of the exam duration, which could be avoided to save test-taker time by completing before or after the examination. She also mentioned that compared to CLAT 2022, the question paper was easy, however, cut off cannot be ascertained as of now.

Q:   Is there negative marking in AILET 2026 Exam?
A:

Candidates must note that the AILET Exam 2026 has negative marking too. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark. Candidates must be very careful while attempting the questions paper of AILET 2026. Candidates are advised to solve mock tests and previous years' question papers to get hand on things. Candidates must keep track of time while practicing for AILET 2026 exam.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in AILET?
A:
Yes, for each wrong attempt 0.25 marks are deducted from the total scores. Since, one mark is allotted for each question, candidates will score 1 mark for their correct attempt, however, if their answer is incorrect, they will lose 0.25 marks from the total score. They will, however, be given 0.75 marks for wrong attempt too. The final scores obtained by the candidates will be as under: Correct attempts minus 0.25 x wrong attempts = total score out of 100 Note: In case, candidates leave question unattempted then the exam authority will neither add any marks or deduct any marks from their total scores. You need to appear for and qualify in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), which is the primary entrance exam for most NLUs; ensure you meet the eligibility criteria of a completed bachelor's degree, then apply to your preferred NLU based on your CLAT score during the counselling process.
