AILET Exam Pattern 2026 (BA LLB & LLM) discusses the exam Mode, Duration, Marking Scheme, Negative Marking, and weightage in detail to help the candidate understand the exam expectations. The AILET exam pattern is released by the National Law University Delhi on the website- nationallawuniversitydelhi.in, along with the AILET notification 2026. As per the notification, the AILET 2026 will be an objective-type test; there will be no descriptive sections in the AILET question paper. The  AILET paper will carry 150 questions in MCQ format. The questions will be asked from three subjects: English Language, Current Affairs including GK, and Logical Reasoning. It is advised that candidates must go through the exam pattern of AILET thoroughly before appearing for the AILET Exam 2026.

AILET Tie-Breaking Method 2026

AILET tie braking criteria will be adopted to deal with situations where two or more candidates get the same score:

  • If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined based on higher marks in the section on LOGICAL REASONING in the AILET 2026.
  • If the merit is still the same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If there is still no change in merit, then a computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.
  • If there is no merit change, authorities shall consider computerized lot draws.

Candidates are advised to follow the AILET 2026 preparation tips to get a high percentile in the law entrance exam. Prepare all sections properly for the exam.
