LSAT India Dates 2023 FAQs

Q: How is the LSAT India score and percentile/rank calculated?

A: LSAT stands for Law School Admission Test.
The pattern of LSAT examination is as follows-
Maximum time- 2 Hours 20 Minutes
Pen and paper format I.e. offline
92-100 Multiple Choice Questions
The paper will be divided into 4 sections-
Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning- 1, Logical Reasoning- 2, and Reading Comprehension.
No negative marking for any wrong attempts.
The scores will be in percentile form.
The number of questions answered correctly will form the raw score. Once all the raw scores are compiled, the average of these scores are calculated to form a bell curve to form a scaled score which usually ranges from 120-180.
The law schools are concerned with the scaled score. If you are more towards the right side of the bell curve it will be better for you. Once you receive the results, you are compared to all the LSAT takers so that you can see how you performed in relation to others.
Once you get your LSAT score you can easily check how much your target school requires to fit in.
Yes it is this easy.
Hope you find the answer helpful.
Thank you.

Q: I have 40% marks in graduation. Will I get admission in a good law college in India with a high ISAT score?

The ISAT India is a more general aptitude test that covers a wider range of topics, including English, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Knowledge. The CLAT, on the other hand, is a more specialized test that focuses on legal aptitude and reasoning.
The ISAT India is also a shorter exam, with a total of 92 questions to be answered in 2 hours and 20 minutes. The CLAT, on the other hand, is a longer exam, with a total of 150 questions to be answered in 3 hours.
As a result of these differences, the ISAT India is generally considered to be a slightly easier exam than the CLAT. However, both exams are challenging and require a significant amount of preparation in order to be successful.
Here is a table comparing the two exams:
| Characteristic | ISAT India | CLAT |
| Difficulty level | Easier | More difficult |
| Total number of questions | 92 | 150 |
| Time duration | 2 hours and 20 minutes | 3 hours |
| Topics covered | English, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Knowledge | Legal aptitude and reasoning |
| Number of seats | Varies by participating law school | Varies by participating law school |
| Eligibility | 10+2 or equivalent | 10+2 or equivalent |
Ultimately, the difficulty of the exam will depend on your individual strengths and weaknesses. If you are strong in general aptitude and reasoning, then the ISAT India may be a better option for you. If you are strong in legal aptitude and reasoning, then the CLAT may be a better option for you.
The best way to determine which exam is right for you is to take a practice test of each exam. This will give you a good idea of your strengths and weaknesses and help you make an informed decision about which exam to take.

Thus, it is difficult for candidates to complete all questions in the CLAT exam within such a short time limit. Moreover, the CLAT question paper includes questions from Current Affairs and General Knowledge. Candidates can get admission to these colleges based on the merit lists prepared on the basis of qualifying exams, such as 10+2 or any other course equivalent to 10+2. However, they cannot get admission to colleges that specifically accept ISAT India scores. Many colleges in India accept other law courses, such as CLAT (accepted by NLUs except NLU Delhi), AILET (accepted by NLU Delhi), and state level common entrance tests for the law subject. If a candidate does not want to appear in any entrance exams, then applying to a college that accepts scores of qualifying exams is the best option for him or her.
