The MHCET Law 2026 Exam will be conducted for admission to the 5-year and 3-year LLB courses at the colleges accepting Maharashtra LAWCET scores. The examination cell will release the application form for the 2026-27 session online on the website, cetcell.mahacet.org. The MH Law CET notification 2026 is expected to be out in November 2026, last week. The application process has some steps such as online registration, filling of necessary academic and contact details, uploading of the latest photograph & signature, fee payment and verification. The schedule for the MHCET Law 2026 Application will be announced through a separate document.

MH CET Law Eligibility 2026

The candidates aspiring to MHCET Law 2025 exam must refer to the eligibility criteria as released officially for the 5-year LLB and 3-year LLB before applying for the exam:

MH CET Law eligibility criteria for 3-year LLB
  • Graduate in any stream
  • A minimum of 45% marks required in the qualifying exam.
  • The candidates belonging to the SC/ ST category must score atleast 40% marks.
  • Candidates who belong to the OBC category will need 42% marks to sit for the MHCET Law exam
MH CET Law eligibility criteria for 5-year LLB
  • Pass in 10+2 is required to appear for the MHCET Law exam
  • Candidates belonging to the open category are required to score atleast 45% marks in thier qualifying exam.
  • The SC/ ST category candidates must score 40% marks in their qualifying exam
  • Cadidates who belong to the VJNT, SBC and OBC category should score atleast 42% marks

MH CET Law 2026 Candidature Type

To understand the MH CET Law 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates also need to know the candidature type, which is one of the factors affecting candidates' eligibility for the entrance exam. 

  • Maharashtra State (MS) candidature type
  • Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) or All India category candidature type
  • Foreign Nationals
  • Non Resident Indians (NRI) / Overseas Indian Citizen (OIC) / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidature type
  • Minority category candidature type
  • Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) candidature type
  • Ex-servicemen (wards' of ex-servicemen or defence force members) candidature type

Note: 

  • Candidates who finished Class 10 and Class 12 at an open school or via distance learning but did not have regular basic education from Class 1 to 10 are ineligible for the MH CET Law.
  • Candidates who have completed their basic regular education from Class 1 to Class 10 and Class 12 from an open college, university, or distance learning are eligible for the MH CET Law 2025 exam.

Maharashtra State Candidature / Category Types

For admission to colleges accepting MH CET Law 2025, the Maharashtra State candidature type has been divided into different sub categories. These subcategories have been mentioned below: 

Type A
  • Candidates who belong to Maharashtra domicile (They should produce a Maharashta domicile certificate)
  • Candidates who were born in Maharashtra (They should produce a birth certificate mentioning a place in Maharashtra as their birth place)
Type B
  • Candidates whose father or mother domiciled in Maharashtra
Type C
  • Candidates whose father or mother is working for the Government of Maharashtra or Government of India and posted in Maharashtra
Type D
  • Candidates whose father or mother is working for the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Udertaking (an organisation under the Maharashtra government authority
Type E
  • Canadidates who have passed their graduation from the area related to Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute and whose mother toungue is Marathi language

Q:   Do I need to submit a category certificate while filling out the MH CET Law application form?
A: 

Yes, candidates who belong to a reserved category must submit a category certificate at the time of filling out the MH CET Law application form. If they do not have this certificate, they must produce it with the help of the concerned regional authority. If reserved category candidates do not submit a category certificate while filling out an MHCET Law application form, their candidature will be considered under the general category or All India Open category. Consequently, they will not be able to leverage the benefits offered to reserved category candidates during the application process. 

Q:   What documents are needed during MH CET Law application?
A: 

Candidates who are aspiring to sit for the MH CET Law 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB programme will have to submit the scanned the latest photograph and signature in the required format during the MHCET Law 2026 application process. However, they may also need to upload the category certificate, residencial proof and date of birth proof (class 10th certificate), etc.

The Maharashtra CET cell will release the link to apply for the MHCET Law 5-year & 3-year LLB online after the release of the notification. Check the following details for an easy application process,

  • Click on the exam portal link available on the website's home page.
  • The 2026-27 portal link will redirect you to a new page. Here you need to click on the MAH-LLB/LLB option.
  • Then, click on the "New Registration" option.
  • Enter details like your name, email ID, mobile number, and select a password. The following details are required for MH CET 2025 registration:

Candidates can pay the application fee for MHCET Law admissions through Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/ Visa/ Maestro/ MasterCard), IMPS, Cash Cards, Mobile Wallets or NetBanking. The application fee to be paid by candidates of each category is as under:

Submit the Application Form

  • Once candidates submit the application fee they will be provided with an e-receipt informing about the payment received from their end.
  • Candidates are advised to take a clear print of this e-receipt of application fee payment.
  • After this, candidates can preview the information provided by them and once they are sure that all the information fields are correctly filled they have to click on ‘Final Submit’ button.
  • On completing this step the application process for MHCET Law 2026 is complete.

If you are going to fill out the MH CET Law 2026 application form, you must read the following guidelines before proceeding further:

  • Fill out all the details correctly in the MH CET Law registration and application form because there will not be a correction window.
  • Pay the application fee or registration fee before the last application date for your respective law course. If you fail to do so, your application will not be considered. 
  • Fill out the application only if you meet the eligibility criteria; otherwise, your application will be rejected. 
  • Do not fill out the wrong details. If the verification of the entered details fails, your admission will be cancelled.

MHCET Law 2025 admit card will be issued to the candidates registered for the exam. There will not be a separate intimation sent to the candidates; the admit card will be issued online only. Refer to the steps given below to download the admit card for the MH CET Law 2026

  • Visit the MAH CET website - cetcell.mahacet.org. 
  • Go to the tab of 5-year LLB / 3-year LLB programme. 
  • Click on the admit card link.
