MH CET Law Counselling 2026 (3 & 5-yr LLB): Institute Level Round, Documents Required, Seat Allotment

Yes, there is a proper and centralized counselling process for MH CET Law, called the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). It's managed by the State Common Entrance Test Cell. The process usually happens in three rounds for both LLB 3-year and LLB 5-year courses.

Under MH CET Law CAP process, freeze option refers when candidates want to confirm their allotment and if they do not want to participate in the further counselling rounds. Under MH CET Law CAP process, float option is a term through which if candidates are not satisfied with the allotted colleges, they can choose this 'Float' option. Candidates exercising this option are eligible for appearing in the subsequent counselling rounds. In case they are not offered seats, they can choose the previously allotted college.  

To register for the Maharashtra CET LLB 3-year result, check the process given below

• Visit cetcell.mahacet.org.
• Click on the 'Admission Portal AY 2026-27' on the MHCET LLB homepage.
• A new page will open up, click on the 'LLB 3-year' tab.
• Now, click on 'Candidate's Login' tab to register for the MH CET 3 year LLB counselling.
• Fill in your registered email ID and password.
• On the login page of Law MHCET enter the required information & upload the necessary documents.
• Select the preferred colleges for MH CET LLB 3-year admission and lock your details once you are done.
• Take the printout of MH CET LLB 3-year registration form for future reference.

The registration process for the counselling started will begin online on the CET cell official website at cetcell.mahacet.org. The CAP process will be conducted for 3-year and 5-year LLB separately. Once the counselling registration will be over, the exam authority will release the MH CET Law merit lists. Candidates will be given option for choice filling during the CAP process.

The Maharashtra CET Cell has not released the Counselling Dates yet. But, candidates must ensure that they register for the MH CET Law 2026 CAP process for 3-year LLB on or before the deadline.

The MH CET Law merit list is a list of candidates who have been shortlisted for counseling based on their rank in the MH CET Law entrance exam. The merit list is prepared separately for MS (Maharashtra State), OMS (Other State / Outside Maharashtra State) candidates, Jammu & Kashmir Candidates and INR, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) or All India category candidature type, Foreign Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI) / Overseas Indian Citizen (OIC) / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates. Candidates cannot raise objections against the merit list.

Candidates are advised to focus on all the sections asked in the MH CET Law exam. Each section carry importance and finally add into the final score. Also, you can see the weightage of the sections asked in MHCET Law exam, the Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning sections carry more marks than the other sections. In the 3-year LLB exam of Maharashtra LAWCET, English section also carry more weightage in the exam. Students should have a strategic approach while preparing for the exam, keeping in mind the exam pattern and MHCET Law marking scheme. 

Candidates who have not appeared in MHT CET Law exam can not participate in the counselling. It is mandatory to not only appear for the test but also to clear the same. Candidates must get minimum cutoff to get the admission in choice of their college.
