Candidates seeking admission through TS LAWCET 2026 or TG LAWCET 2026 must be eligible to apply for the exam and secure a seat in the law colleges of Telangana. The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) will be conducting TS LAWCET 2026 for the five-year LLB and three-year LLB courses on May 18, 2026, along with the TG PGLCET for LLM course. The exam date for the TG LAWCET 2026 has been announced via a notification. The Council will release the TS LAWCET Application Form 2026 on February 10. Only candidates eligible as per the prescribed TS LAWCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria will be shortlisted for the final admission round. TG LAWCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria for 5-Year LLB Course
Candidates seeking admission to the five-year LLB courses through TS LAWCET, have to match the required conditions as, "candidates for 5 year LL.B. course should have passed two year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S. with 45% of aggregate marks for general category, 42% for OBC Category and 40% for SC/ST."
Therefore, the eligible candidates will fullfill following conditions:
- They must have passed or appeared in the Class 12 examination or equivalent examinations to be eligible for admission to the five-year LLB course
- They must secure at least 45% marks in aggregate of all subjects in the class 12th examination
- Those belonging to the OBC category will be given 3% relaxation in the qualifying marks i.e. those who have secured 42% marks in the qualifying examination will also be considered eligible for admission.
- Those belonging to the SC/ ST category will be given 5% relaxation i.e. they must have secured at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
Domicile criteria - As per the exam authority, "The candidate should be an Indian National and should satisfy Local/ Unreserved status requirement as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974, and the amendments made thereto from time to time." This means that those who want to claim a seat under reserved categories in Andhra Pradesh colleges must show a domicile certificate or proof of attending an educational institution in the state for at least seven years.

The TS LAWCET LLM exam is called the TS PGLCET. The TS PGLCET eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

TG LAWCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria for 3-Year LLB Course
The eligibility criteria, as mentioned by the exam authority, "Candidates for 3-year LL. B. Course should have passed any Graduate Degree (10 2 3 pattern) of a recognized University or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Universities concerned, with 45% of aggregate marks for the general category, 42% for the OBC Category, and 40% for SC/ST. If any candidate secured less than 45%, 42%, and 40% respectively in graduation as stated above, he should have secured the same percentage or more on the aggregate in any Post Graduation or B.Ed."
Therefore, candidates seeking admission to the three-year LLB course must have:
- Must have passed a three-year graduation degree in any stream. Those appearing in the final semester examinations for graduation.
- They must have secured at least 45% marks in the aggregate of the qualifying degree
- Those belonging to the OBC category must have secured 42% marks, and those belonging to the SC/ST category must have secured 40% minimum marks in the qualifying degree
The domicile criteria for the three-year LLB degree are also the same as mentioned for the five-year LLB course.

TG PGLCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
The TS PGLCET Exam is conducted for admission to the LLM course offered by the colleges recognised by TGCHE. To get admission to the LLM program through TG PGLCET 2026, candidates will have to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB/BL) of 3 or 5 years duration from a recognized university.
- Candidates who are in the final year of their LLB/BL degree programme can also appear for the exam, but must have completed the degree and fulfilled all university requirements before counseling.
- A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate is required for the LLB/BL degree for the General and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories.
- Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories get a relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks requirement, meaning they need a minimum of 45% marks.

TS LAWCET/ PGLCET Age Eligibility 2026
According to the exam authority, there will be no age limit for the law courses admissions. Candidates can apply for the five-year LLB course, as well as three-years LLB course, irrespective of their age. It was also stated in the information bulletin of the law entrance exam, "There shall be no Age restriction for the candidates seeking admission into LL. B. Courses, through appearing at TS LAWCET as per the Bar Council of India, Lr. No. BCI/D/2337/2018(LE/Cir.4) dated 26.11.2018. The detailed information is available on the official website i.e. barcouncilofindia.org. There is no upper age limit for the TS PGLCET.
TG LAWCET Qualifying Percentage 2026
General and OBC candidates who appear for the TS LAWCET 2026 exam must score equal to or higher than the qualifying percentage determined by TSCHE. Candidates will only be eligible for admission if they obtain the minimum qualifying percentage in the TS LAWCET. There is no provision for a minimum qualifying percentage for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories. General and OBC candidates can check the qualifying percentage below:"
