However, the syllabus for JMI exam usually remains the same every year.
Candidates willing to pursue Bachelor of Commerce B.Com or Bachelor of Business Administration BBA course from Jamia Millia Islamia will have to appear for JMI Entrance Exam. The exam duration is of 1 hour 30 minutes and only multiple choice questions (MCQs) are asked in the exam. The syllabus for JMI Entrance Exam for B.Com or BBA course consist of four topics- Language Skills, General Awareness Reasoning and Numerical Ability. Candidates must prepare for all the topics and practice the sample papers to score well in the examination as the admission will be given to only those who will meet the cut off.
The aim of the written test of JMI Entrance Exam for M.A. Mass Communication subject is to test the knowledge and aptitude of the candidate and to ascertain the fact that the applicant is suitable for the course. The question paper of Mass Communication subject is divided into two parts. Part A is based on multiple choice questions and Part B is based on descriptive questions.
In Part A, questions related to national and international political issues/personalities, General Knowledge, Film, Television and other media and Art, Literature and culture are asked. Whereas, the descriptive paper comprises of essay type long answers which reflect the candidates' critical understanding of contemporary issues and the media.
