The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) Entrance Exam is set to commence from October 10, 2020, onwards and thousands of students from all over India have applied for admission to the courses offered at Jamia Millia Islamia. However, the main talking point will be appearing for the national-level entrance exam amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. With the COVID-19 cases in India continuing to rise, many students have raised their opinion on conducting the entrance exam in online mode (from home) or postponing the entrance exam.
Despite students being vocal, the majority of the students want to appear for the entrance exam and get it done given that the entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted from October 10 to November 22, 2020. Apart from the JMI Entrance Exam, various other national entrance exams have been conducted such as JEE Main, NEET, Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) and JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE).

JMI Entrance Exam Timings
When it comes to an entrance exam, one must be punctual. Reach the allotted exam centre one hour before the scheduled time. It is always best to reach the venue before time, and in this scenario, one should reach early so that the entry process is smooth and that there is no overcrowding at the last minute. One has to maintain social distancing at all times, be it wherever you are. Here are the timings which are as follows:

JMI Entrance Exam Day Guidelines
Always follow the rules and regulations which will be mentioned on the JMI Entrance Exam admit card, which will be available seven days before the course exam is scheduled to be conducted. Candidates should keep in mind the timings at all times, the items that are not allowed at the exam centre, items that are allowed, all documents which are allowed at the centre and what precautions one must take in these troublesome times.
Before Reaching the JMI Entrance Exam Centre
- Ensure that you have your JMI Entrance Exam admit card, your Aadhar Card, passport size photograph and the Arogya Setu application installed on your phone.
- Leave all the electronics before you leave. No electronic devices will be allowed at the exam centre, including calculators and smartwatches. Items will be detained.
- Leave for the entrance exam on time as once the gates close, candidates will not be allowed to enter.
Items that can be carried
- Carry your transparent water bottle.
- Carry your hand sanitizers which should be transparent and a maximum of 50 ML.
- Pen/pencil for rough work.
Documents Required
- JMI Entrance Exam Admit Card
- Passport size photograph
- Government Authorized ID – Aadhar Card/Driving License/Voter’s ID
At the Time of Entry
- Ensure that you maintain social distancing at all times.
- The candidate’s body temperature will be checked, followed by being handed three-ply masks.
- The candidate will have to show their admit card and their govt. ID before entry.
During Examination
- Once again, maintain social distancing and avoid touching items such as stair railings and walls.
- Be seated in the allotted room. Candidates will be seated at a six-foot distance from others at all angles.
- Sign the registration seat and sanitise your hands.
- The candidate will be provided with question papers and answer scripts at the scheduled time.
- DO NOT make any suspicious moves which result in disqualifications.
- Invigilators will keep an eye on the students throughout the exam.
- Submit your phone or any other device before the exam commences.
- The candidate will not be allowed to leave the exam centre before the exam ends.
After JMI Entrance Exam
- Be seated till the invigilator informs the students to move out.
- Dispose of the rough sheets.
- Move out in an orderly fashion and maintain a distance of six feet.
JMI Entrance Exam COVID-19 Safety Instructions
- The officials will be present at the exam centre to ensure that social distancing is followed.
- All the rooms, doors, railings, desk tables, chairs and other items will be sanitized before and after the entrance exam.
- Students will be seated six feet apart from all angles to ensure social distancing is followed.
- Hand sanitisers will be available at all locations of the exam centre.
- Water will be provided, however, it is best if you carry your water bottle to the centre which should be transparent.
