What is DUET 2021?

The Delhi University has released the counselling dates and the first DUET merit lists for Undergraduate (UG) courses online. Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) is conducted by Delhi University in order to offer admission to aspirants in various UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes. DUET 2021 exam is conducted in three shifts across 101 exam centres in 18 cities. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts DUET on behalf of Delhi University. The national-level entrance exam is conducted in online mode i.e. computer-based test. DUET is conducted for all programmes such as UG, PG, MPhil and PhD. The DUET 2021 official dates have not yet been released. The DUET 2021 exam schedule is expected to be released in the month of April, 2021.

DUET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

DUET Eligibility Criteria varies for most of the courses. The minimum eligibility requirement for different courses are given below -

DUET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for BTech

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 with 60% aggregate in four subjects, which must include Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

DUET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for BA Hons Humanities and Social Sciences

  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% aggregate in four subjects in Class 12.

DUET Eligibility Criteria 2021 for BA Hons Multimedia and Mass Communication Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with 75% aggregate in four subjects. They must have secured 85% in English. Candidates can include Mass Media Studies as an academic subject among best four subjects.

Must have completed graduation in Commerce. The qualifying aggregate is 50% for general, 45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST

Graduated in BEd,  BABEd, BElEd or DElEd with 50% aggregate.

DUET 2021 Admission Process

Candidates will have to first register themselves on the official website of the university before filling the application form. Once the registration has been filled, candidates can fill up the application form, upload the images and pay the application fee to complete the application process. 

Step 1: Fill DU Application Form

Aspirants need to fill the DUET application form online on the official website of Delhi University. For UG course, candidates need to register on DU’s admission portal 'UG Admissions 2021 (Entrance Based)' and for PG admissions through 'PG Admissions 2021'. Applicants need to upload their photograph and scanned signature such that it is a maximum of 500 KB in size and is in JPG/ JPEG/ PNG format.

Step 2: Download DUET Admit Card

Candidates need to download their DUET admit card from the official website of Delhi University by filling in their form number and date of birth on the entrance exam portal. Aspirants will be not allowed appear for DUET if they do not have the admit card at the exam centre. 

Step 3: Appear for Delhi University Entrance Test

Students need to appear for DUET as per the schedule mentioned on their DUET admit card. Aspirants are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam.

Step 4: Check DUET Result

NTA announces the results of DUET. Candidates can access their result from the official website. 

Step 5: Appear for Interview/Group Discussion Round

In some PG courses offered at Delhi University, candidates who clear Delhi University Entrance Test need to appear for an Interview/Group Discussion round. The courses in which the Interview/Group Discussion after DUET entrance exam is conducted are mentioned below:

Step 6: Counselling

Once the merit list has been released online, students who make the merit list will have to appear for the counselling session at the college interested in Students will have to book their seat and verify their documents. The candidate has to appear for the counselling session at the given date and time. The student is also required to pay the first semester/year fees as well to confirm the admission.

A. You need to fill DUET 2021 application form online through the admission portal.

Q. Can I apply for multiple programmes through one application form?

A. Yes, you can apply through one application only. You need to select the programme in the application form.

Q. How can I pay the registration fees?

A. The registration fees can be paid through credit card/debit card/net banking/UPI.

Q. I have completed my class 12 from NIOS. Will I get admission in regular college?

A. Yes, you can get admission in regular college provided you meet the cutoff.

Q. How can I crack the Delhi University Entrance Exam?

A. A candidate appearing for the Delhi University Entrance Exam (DUET) needs to be thoroughly prepared before appearing for the test. Candidates need to understand the exam pattern, marking scheme and syllabus carefully. Buy the necessary study books for the course applied for as well.

Q. What is the syllabus for BA in DUET?

A. There is no specific syllabus to a BA degree. However, for the course applied for, the candidate needs to be thorough with the subjects and topics. The entrance exam is generally made on Class XII subjects and topics.

A. The exam pattern will be in multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There are four choices to each question in the entrance exam. There is negative marking as well so candidates have to be careful and should know which answer they are dotting correctly on the OMR sheet.

A. There are two ways a candidate can get admission in MCom in Delhi University.
  • Direct Entry – A candidate can get direct entry in the respective college although, the candidate must be a BCom graduate and admission will be granted based on the required graduation CGPA.
  • DUET – The Delhi University conducts the DUET exam through which candidates are granted admission on the basis of merit.
