JEMAT CBT Manual

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University, West Bengal is conducting JEMAT 2021 remotely on July 31. Candidates can appear for the JEMAT 2021 exam from their homes. This decision came after considering the COVID-19 protocols. MAKAUT will proctor the JEMAT exam remotely via the webcam/ front camera installed on the device from which the candidate takes the test. In addition to the camera, candidates will be required to provide microphone access before they initiate the test.

To facilitate the JEMAT internet-based test from home, MAKAUT has laid down guidelines for hassle-free exam conduction. Read further to know more about technical guidelines and exam day guidelines for JEMAT 2021 exam.

JEMAT 2021 Remote Proctored Exam

MAKAUT has decided to conduct the JEMAT exam remotely. During a remote proctored test, any unusual behaviour might lead to disqualification of the candidature. JEMAT admit card shall have all the exam day guidelines, technical requirements and code of conduct during the online JEMAT examination. Here are the prerequisites of the remote proctored JEMAT exam.

Prerequisites of JEMAT Video Proctored Exam

Candidates will receive details regarding the JEMAT exam and the mock test via email one day prior to the test. This email shall contain login details including user ID and password along with the technical guide to take the test. Prerequisites of the video proctored JEMAT are as follows.

  1. Android Smartphone with a front camera or Laptop/Desktop with a webcam
  2. Internet connectivity with at least one MBPS bandwidth at all times
  3. Latest version of the Google Chrome web browser
  4. Turn off notifications and browser pop-ups
  5. Ensure there is sufficient light in the room during the test

NOTE: In case you do not receive an email 24 hours prior to the MOCK or the exam, please contact the helpdesk given on the website, i.e. cetmat.examflix.in.

JEMAT Internet Based Test: Exam Day Guidelines

Before starting the JEMAT exam and during the exam, candidates must follow certain guidelines. Here is the exam day checklist for JEMAT 2021.

JEMAT Exam Day Guidelines: Before the Exam

  • Get settled at a silent place with your device ready half an hour before the scheduled time
  • Make sure you are sitting alone.
  • Turn off devices including TV, Radio or any other sound systems that could hamper the test
  • Ensure that your device is fully charged and you have a power backup in case of a power breakdown
  • Test your device which you intend to use for JEMAT 2021 exam before the scheduled time
  • Test will not start until webcam or front camera is not functional or the browser does not have a camera access/permission
  • Put the smartphones on silent mode and ensure all app notifications are disabled before the start of the exam.

JEMAT Exam Day Guidelines: During the Test

  • Test takers must not switch across windows/ tabs or get outside the frame of the webcam/front camera. This can lead to disqualification
  • In case of connectivity issue, the proctor might allow the test taker to resume the exam from where he/she left
  • Do not minimize the browser window. Minimizing the window will lead to the termination of the exam.
  • In case of disruption caused due to network issues, candidates must log in using the same credentials immediately.

Q: Is it mandatory to appear for the JEMAT mock exam?

A: Yes, since the mock test will help to familiarise with the software and hardware issues, this will avoid exam day hassles.

Q: What are the prerequisites of the JEMAT video proctored exam?

A: Candidates must check the functionality of the webcam/ front camera and install the latest version of the google chrome web browser. In addition, candidates need to disable all popup notifications before starting the test. Checking that the test room has adequate light and internet speed is also one of the major steps to take before the exam.

Q: Can I make or receive phone calls during the JEMAT exam from home?

A: No. Any outgoing or incoming calls are considered a violation of the test guidelines. MAKAUT has set a violation limit, exceeding which can lead to cancellation of the candidature.

Q: Can I use my smartphone to take the JEMAT exam from home?

A: Yes. Candidates can either choose a desktop/laptop or an android smartphone to take the JEMAT exam from home. However, the device must have a functional front camera.

Q: Can I receive notifications from apps while taking the JEMAT exam from home?

A: No. Any popup notification or any antivirus updates that would avoid the view of the window will mark a violation of the guidelines during the test.

Q: Can I have a snack break during the JEMAT test?

A: No. Candidates are not allowed to take a break during the JEMAT exam. Getting outside the frame of the camera or talking to someone can lead to the cancellation of the candidature.

Q: What are the probable causes of warnings during the JEMAT remote proctored exam?

A: Switching across the window/tabs, notification pop-ups, phone calls during the test, refreshing the browser window, and minimizing the browser window can lead to violation of the test guidelines. In addition, candidates who get outside the camera frame will be considered cheating during the exam.

Q: What if there is an interruption due to internet speed during the JEMAT exam?

A: Candidates must switch internet connection in such a case and access the login portal using the credentials received in the email. Proctor might allow candidates to resume the test in such cases.

Q: Can I change the device in between the JEMAT exam?

A: Yes. Candidates will be allowed to switch over the device during the exam if one device isn’t responding during the JEMAT exam.

Q: At what time should I log in to the exam portal for JEMAT 2021?

A: Candidates must log in using the credentials at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

Q: Can I take the JEMAT remote proctored exam without providing camera access?

A: No. Images of the candidates are to be recorded during the JEMAT exam at certain intervals. In case of disruption caused in the camera, the candidature is liable to be terminated.
