KMAT syllabus includes all the important topics of subjects that are relevant for business and general aptitude. For KMAT exam, candidates have to study, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability and Logical Reasoning. Given below are the key topics included in the KMAT syllabus: -

The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section of KMAT exam syllabus includes various topics of Grammar, Word Meaning, Vocabulary, Parajumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Sentence Completion, Synonyms and Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, etc.

The Quantitative Aptitude section of KMAT syllabus includes all the topics of Mathematics from Class 9 to 10 such as Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra Trigonometry Modern Math, Number System and Mensuration.

The Logical Reasoning syllabus of KMAT exam includes topics that require analytical interpretation of data presented in the form of Puzzles, Pie Charts, Venn Diagram, Tables and Bar Graphs.

Q:   What are the important topics of the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section of the KMAT exam?
A: 

Just like other management entrance exams, the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section is divided into Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability/English Usage. The KMAT exam assesses your language skills, vocabulary, grammar, and reading comprehension abilities. There are about four to five comprehension passages while the topics of English usage are as follows:

Q:   What is the scope of KMAT exam?
A: 

KMAT Karnataka is conducted by the Karnataka Post Graduate Private Colleges' Association for admissions to MBA, PGDM and Master of Computer Applications courses. The KMAT scores are accepted by the top 170 AICTE approved colleges in Karnataka. 

Q:   What is the structure of KMAT question paper?
A: 

The KMAT structure has remained unchanged since the past few years. KMAT exam will have 120 multiple-choice questions to be solved in 120 minutes. There is no negative marking in the KMAT exam and no marks will be deducted for questions not attempted. There will be three sections in the KMAT question paper, i.e. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. Each section of the KMAT question paper will have 40 multiple choice questions which will have four options each. One mark will be awarded to the candidates for each correct answer. The exam will be conducted in the remote-proctored mode. Before 2020, the exam was conducted in the paper-based test mode. But since the COVID-19 pandemic, the authorities changed the exam mode to internet-based test mode. 

Q:   What is the exam mode of KMAT?
A: 

KMAT Karnataka exam will be held in the home-based remote proctored mode. Candidates can now take the exam from the safe environment of their homes. They do not have to choose the exam city and visit any KMAT exam centre in order to take the exams. They can fill the KMAT application form online and take the remote proctored online exam through the link given to the candidates on the exam day or as mentioned in their KMAT admit card.

The KMAT exam was earlier conducted in paper-based test mode. But due to the COVID-19 outbreak, in 2021 and 2022, the exam was conducted in internet-based test mode. 

Q:   What are the qualifying marks required for KMAT?
A: 

The students applying for KMAT exam must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in graduation. Reserved category students will get a relaxation of 5%. 

Q:   Is there any negative marking in KMAT exam?
A: 

No, the KMAT Karnataka exam does not have any negative markings. The KMAT exam is conducted in the remote online proctored mode to offer equal opportunity to all the candidates coming from different backgrounds. There are 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) which are to be solved within 120 minutes or two hours. Each question has four options and the students will be awarded one mark for each correct answer. To bring total transparency, merit will be based on raw scores and not on percentile based scores.

Q:   Is KMAT exam easy or tough?
A: 

KMAT is a remote proctored test with a level of difficulty is moderate. Students can gauge difficulty by their understanding of concepts, their level of prep and dedication. 

Q:   Can I appear for KMAT more than once in a year?
A: 

No, candidates cannot appear more than once for the KMAT exam. The KMAT exam is held only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The KMAT exam is being conducted in the IBT (internet-based test or online remote proctored) mode. Based on the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test scores, students can apply for admission to various programs offered by KMAT participating colleges. The exam will only be conducted in the internet-based test mode for all the sessions. The difficulty level of the KMAT exam is usually easy and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the KMAT exam need to apply on the official website of KMAT India and fill out the KMAT application form once the application window opens. KMAT is held in about 10 test cities in the state of Karantaka, but since the exam is being held in the remote proctored mode, candidates do not have to visit the exam centre to take the exam.
