KMAT 2026 Exam Day Checklist, Dos and Don’ts Guidelines

KMAT (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) is a management entrance exam that is conducted once a year in online mode. KPPGCA conducts the exam to offer admissions into PG courses in Karnataka and Bangalore. This year, the KMAT exam will be held on September 20, 2026, in online mode for both MBA and MCA courses. KMAT Exam Day Checklist: Things to Remember on the Exam Day

Here’s a list of necessary instructions that the students must follow at the KMAT test centre. The list also consists of some dos and don’ts and important documents to be carried to the centre to help aspirants understand the rules and regulations to be followed on exam day.

• Documents needed: Candidates taking the KMAT exam need to check that they have all the necessary documents such as the KMAT admit card, a valid photo ID proof (photocopy and original) for verification purposes. Aspirants need to have any one of the following proofs: Employee ID, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or previous college ID. Candidates must ensure they keep a printout of the admit card, as a soft copy of the same will not be considered valid. Candidates must also keep a printout of the KMAT application form as it will also be required for identification purposes.
• KMAT exam centre: Candidates must make sure that they are ready for the exam with proper network connectivity and ID proofs at least an hour before the exam starts. 
• Stationery: Students should keep a black or blue ballpoint pen, HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, KMAT admit card, and ID proof only with them during the exam. A blank paper for rough work can be used after showing it to the proctor. 
• Instructions on the exam day: Students must carefully listen to and follow the instructions given by the invigilator before and during the exam. Before they start attempting the KMAT question paper, they must read the instructions given on the question paper carefully.
• Rest your mind: The KMAT exam usually happens in the afternoon; hence, students can give their minds some rest. They must not start studying a new topic in the morning on exam day. This will only clutter and burden their mind and shift their focus from the already prepared topics, which will, in turn, make them nervous. Therefore, give your mind some rest by having a good eight hours of sleep so that you wake up fresh on exam day.
• Stay calm: The KMAT exam is also speed-based. It is really important to stay calm and focused throughout the exam day. Panicking will not help and will rather add to the already kicking in anxiety and last-minute jitters. So try to stay calm.

KMAT 2026 Exam Day Checklist: Things to Avoid on the Exam Day

Students must avoid the following things on the KMAT exam day:

• Do not use electronic devices such as calculators, mobile phones, watches, microphones, etc. during the exam. If caught, candidates may be barred from the exam.
• Do not talk to anyone during the exam.
• Do not spend extra time on one question; if you are doubtful, move on to the next question. Time management is the key to the KMAT exam.
• Make sure you have your KMAT admit card with you as it is required for the examination. 
• Do not indulge in malpractice. If caught, you can be barred from the exam.

KMAT 2026: Guidelines for Online Proctored Mode of Examination

Candidates can take the KMAT 2026 test from their homes using a laptop or a desktop (with a webcam) and a 5 Mbps uninterrupted internet connection. Students must remember that they will be invigilated with the help of AI and a human proctor. Candidates must take the exam ethically and honestly, as the exam conducting authority reserves the right to disqualify the candidate if he/she is found using unfair means.

Basic Instructions

• Candidates appearing for the exam must use a laptop/desktop which has Windows 7, 8, 10 and Ubuntu LINUX (14.1 and 16) versions.
• If the candidate is using a laptop, then he/she must make sure that it is connected to the charger throughout the exam duration.
• The laptop/desktop must have a minimum of 4GB of RAM and an Intel Core i3 processor or above for the smooth conduct of the exam.
• There must be at least 100 MB of free space on the computer.
• Candidates must be seated in front of the laptop throughout the exam in a well-lit area where their face is clearly visible.
• Candidates must take the exam in formal clothes.
• Candidates must make sure that there shouldn't be any disturbance or noise in the background.

Instructions to be Followed During the Test

• Applicants must not leave their seats throughout the exam because their videos and images will be recorded and supervised in real-time with the help of AI and a Human Proctor. If they do so, it will be considered a violation.
• Applicants must not open any other application or a pop-up window, and if in case anybody is caught doing so, he/she will be disqualified.
• Applicants will not be allowed to take breaks during the exam.
• Applicants cannot use any electronic gadget, such as a tablet, calculator, etc., while taking the exam. They can only use plain paper and a pencil after showing the same to the examiner.
• Candidates are not allowed to talk or speak during the KMAT exam.
• Candidates must have a KMAT hall ticket and a photo ID proof before sitting for the exam.
• Candidates must not disturb the position of the webcam during the exam.
