  • Get down to the basics: It is very important to know the basics of mathematics when preparing for the Quantitative Ability section. Start with understanding the basic concepts and list down the formulae and theorems. Focus on understanding their fundamentals and application. Read the question properly and try to simplify them into smaller parts.
  • Practice mock tests and sample papers: Make a habit of solving mock tests and sample questions each time you complete a topic. While solving the questions, try to analyse which questions are you able to solve quickly and which ones take more time. This will help you understand your strengths and weaknesses and will at the same time help you assess which topic needs more attention. While preparing, keep revising the formulae and theorems which you noted earlier.
  • Accuracy and speed: Attempting a question quickly is as important as answering it accurately. Though KMAT does not have sectional timings, one should be able to answer the questions with speed and accuracy. Managing time in the exam is the key to scoring well. Solving a question accurately is as important as solving it with accuracy.
  • Make short notes: As mentioned above, while preparing, make sure that you make short notes of all the theorems and formulae and memorize them. Try finding tricks for solving a question quickly. QA is all about applying the right formulae. Jot down important points, tricks and formulae which will help you in a quick revision.
  • Revision: There is no escape from revision. Take out time every week to go through what you have studied. Don’t overexert but keep revising. If you come across tricky questions try practicing them twice or thrice and then revise them by taking out some time from your schedule. The revision will help you memorize the formulae by heart and also help you in finding shortcuts and tricks for solving a particular question.
