No, there is no interview round for M.Tech admission at IIT Kanpur. Admission offers for GATE-qualified candidates are displayed on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Students must register at the COAP portal to view and accept their offers. Registration on COAP portal is free. Additionally, candidates are advised to download COAP 2022 information brochure. COAP Registration number is mandatory to apply for M.Tech at IIT Kanpur admission portal. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are communicated directly by the department via e-mail.

Students-Undergraduate Research Graduate Excellence (SURGE) is an internship programme of IIT Kanpur. The programme is offered to the three categories - SAARC students, Non-IITK students, and IIT Kanpur students.
