Extremely satisfied with my college, it is one of the best.
Placements: About 85% of students get placed in Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, and the rest decide to go for higher education. I think the highest has gone around 50 LPA, and the average is 25 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Microsoft, Google, Uber, Zomato, ITC Limited, etc. Internships are tough, as there are less biotech companies, and non-core may be difficult, but they require skills. Top roles offered are Software Developer, Product Manager, Entrepreneur, etc.
Infrastructure: The PK Kelkar Library is the heart of IIT Kanpur and is considered one of the most beautiful libraries. The lecture halls are well-maintained. Wi-Fi is available in every corner of the campus, and the labs are also very nice. There are 15 halls of residence, out of which, Hall 6 and Hall 4 are for female students and are very well-maintained, and the food is also good. Apart from education, the cultural and sports facilities are also well-maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are good, very helpful, and qualified from the best universities of the world. The teaching quality is the best. In academics, IIT Kanpur is considered one of the most difficult due to its maths courses. But, grading is okay and sometimes relatively absolute. Overall, courses are of all types.
Other: It's everyone's dream to become an IITian, especially from one of the older IITs.

A short review of IIT Kanpur.
Placements: As per phase one data, 1000 students get placed which is a very good number. The highest salary package offered is 3 crores per annum and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Despite the branch, we get equal chance for placement. The top roles offered are buisness analyst, data scientist, data analyst, software engineer, and AI engineer.
Infrastructure: BSBE department has its labs and buildings like BSBE building and MFCM building. Facilities are very good. Wi-Fi facility is available for 24 hours. Room facilities are very good and mess food is also very hygienic and good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and approachable via mail or in person. Every single teacher at IIT Kanpur is well-knowledgeable and highly qualified. Course curriculum is a little tough but yet helpful. There are 2 exams in one semester, the mid-semester exam and the end-semester exam. Content and grades completely depend on teachers.
Other: I chose this course according to my rank in JEE Advanced. Firstly I thought that I should drop the course as it does not have much scope but later I got to know that despite our branch we get placement opportunities evenly. Udghosh is one of the largest sports festivals in India organized by IIT Kanpur. IIT Kanpur gives importance to sports.

Our college infrastructure and faculties are excellent. Placements are overall very good.
Placements: Overall placement in our branch are less because very few companies comes for our branch students that's why. Students go to research line and most students go to technical job by learning coding because some students don't want to research or may be some financial problem.
Infrastructure: About facilities and infrastructure of any branch in IITK are excellent. We get full 5G speed wifi inside and outside classrooms, labs and library. Our classrooms are excellent with comfortable chairs and AC's inside classrooms. About hostel, it's also very good. our hostels also includes very nice mess, canteen, salon and grocery shops also.
Faculty: Our professors are highly qualified from different foreign countries, no doubt about their knowledge. We have quiz every alternate weeks. Professors also conduct presentations, assignments. We have mid semester exam at the middle of the course and end semester exam at the end of the course.

Satisfied with the placements and infrastructure, but dissatisfied with the professors.
Placements: The placements are good, and everyone is getting placed. The seniors help and cooperate with us in placements. We get help from professors and alumni during placements. Top recruiters are HCL, Microsoft, Google, Larsen & Toubro, Ola, Uber, and Zomato.
Infrastructure: The course is slightly difficult, and it has a lot of classes. The classes start at 8 AM and may extend till 5 pm. There are labs as well. Wi-Fi is available on the entire campus. Classrooms and libraries are also very big. The hostel is also nice. The food quality is good.
Faculty: The professors are a bit lazy and unreliable. They can take tests any day. They are knowledgeable but lack teaching skills. They try to make the course more difficult for students by not giving them the right materials. The course can be cleared if we study regularly.

Good and bad points of IITK.
Placements: In general, placements at IIT Kanpur are excellent, but this year, due to the recession, they were not as good. The average CTC of my branch, Biological Sciences and Bioengineering, is 22 LPA, and the median is 20 LPA, with a placement percentage of around 85% because around 25 out of 30 students SAT for placements get placed. If you LOOK at the branch only from a placement point of view, then Biological Sciences and Bioengineering (BSBE) have better placement than other core branches.
Infrastructure: In IIT Kanpur, there is a completely different building for our branch located in the Academic area. The department building is well-equipped with centralized AC and 5G Wi-Fi service. Fun fact: Our department building has coffee machines from which you can make your own coffee whenever you want for free. In the first year, all students are allotted Hall 13. In Hall 13, there are double and triple rooms which are given by lottery. Hostel rooms have decent space; you will not get AC here, but all other necessities are provided. The canteen is subsidized here, and the quality of food in both the mess and canteen is very nice. Sports infrastructure is also great here; our campus has one Main ground where cricket and other athletic events take place, one football ground, one hockey ground, 5 badminton courts, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members are very qualified; most of them have done their higher education from foreign premier institutes. So, from a knowledge perspective, they are well-equipped, but sometimes they fail to make us understand concepts because they get too deep, which more than 90% of students are not able to understand. The course curriculum is pretty outdated, but they are now starting to add relevant topics to the curriculum. Semester exams are very tough here at IIT K; that's the reason why it is called the IIT with the toughest academics, which gets even tougher because of some professors who give good grades very rarely.
Other: I had an interest in Biology already, and according to my rank in JEE ADVANCE, I thought this college and this branch were perfect for me. The best thing about my course is that it is not as difficult as other courses, and you get a good amount of free time to explore. ANTARAGINI is the cultural fest of IITK. TECHKRITI is the Technical fest of IITK. UDHGOSH is the Sports fest of IITK. All fests last for 3 days.

Absolutely tough grading, excellent infrastructure, placements are okay.
Placements: 70% of the students got placed during the placements drive. The lowest offer was 10 Lacs and the highest was 1crore with an average of around 20 LPA by Microsoft, Goldensachs and others. From our course, 30% students got internships. HR, intern, consultation, financial manager, and cyber security were the roles offered.
Infrastructure: 24*7 Wi-Fi service is available in the college. The labs are properly structured. The classrooms have Wi-Fi accessibility. The library is open till 12 in the night, and during the exams, it is open 24*7. The facilities are also good. The quality of food is pretty good but south Indians have to adjust with North Indian food. Canteen service is available from 2 PM till 2 AM in every hostel. There is a health centre open 24*7 for students and staff free of cost. Sports and games facilities are also good. There are so many games available like hockey, foot ball, volleyball etc.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. They have completed their Masters from foreign countries. The teaching quality is also good. English is used as the medium of study. The course curriculum is relevant, it is very useful for the students to survive in the industries. Compared to other colleges, IIT Kanpur has tough syllabus and exams. Passing percentage is based on the students scoring as it is relatively grading.
Other: I have chosen this branch because I am interested in this course. There are so many events like freshers day, open house, and others happening every now and then. There are also many scholarships available.

Life at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
Placements: Around 85% students get placed. The highest package is 1.9 crore, and the average package is around 20 LPA. All big tech giants like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook come to recruit students every year. IITK has the best placement statistics, in India.
Infrastructure: Hostels are great. They have all the facilities such as Wi-Fi, and study room. Library is very big, and have thousands of books and journal. Pk. Kelkar library, is the name of the library. Classrooms are very big, and have Wi-Fi facility.
Faculty: Faculty members are very qualified, and knowledgeable. Some of the faculty members are great in teaching, but some are not. Semester exams are not easy to pass, if you did not study well. IITK is famous for the tough academics.
Other: I chose this course, because I wanted to do research in this field. IITK has the best research facilities in India. IITK have three major annual fests - Antaragni, Techkriti, and Udgosh.

College life at IITK is excellent.
Placements: Placements, in general, are very good. Around 80% of the students got selected in core jobs, software jobs, consulting, finance, product management, etc. In our course, the highest salary package offered is 35 LPA, and around 50% of the students got selected for this salary package. Others went for higher studies. The minimum salary package offered is around 7 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 11 LPA. Top recruiters are mostly software-based companies. Around 70% of the students got an internship.
Infrastructure: Our department building has multiple labs with high-tech lab equipment. It has the best drinking water facility on the whole campus, and the Wi-Fi connection is also fast. Classrooms are also well-furnished with air-conditioners and projectors. The library here is big, but if you forgot your ID card, you might not be allowed to enter the library. The hostel is well-furnished and clean. The quality of food is also good, but the taste is somewhat compromising. The canteen is very good, and you can sit with friends and enjoy the good food. Medical facilities are sufficiently good for normal treatment. IITKs sports and games facilities are excellent among all other IITs. We have squash, badminton, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, cricket, football, wall climbing, swimming, gymnastics, hockey, weight lifting, athletics, and many others like pool tables, etc.
Faculty: Teachers here are well-experienced and achieved excellent awards in academics. Some of them are members of different academic societies, and they are very helpful. The teaching material is very good. The course curriculum is well-designed, and it is very relevant. According to the students' interests, there are many opportunities, including a career in industries.
Other: I have chosen this course mainly because of the rank cutoffs in the JoSAA. Still, after studying, I started to like this course mainly because of the different opportunities it offers. Biological sciences have a profound impact on any discipline. I would like if students were taught more about businesses. Many seminars and thesis get presented, and many other entrepreneur cell meets and fests happen every year. The campus crowd is not much, but it is also not very less. Every student gets sufficiently bonded with others. There is a village surrounding our campus. Different scholarships are offered to the students, and there is no end to extracurricular activities.
