Unfiltered Insights from GGSIPU Students

VIPS is not same for every course, recently a BTech student shared that the load of assignments, presentations, file work and exam is very high.

The official placement records of VIPS should be treated with a pinch of salt. While students have praised the college on the infrastructure front, but the placements are described as poor by many students. Some students have even raised concerns regarding the transparency of placement statistics.

Don't choose MAIT if you are expecting a big university style campus. Students have shared several reviews around the campus being small and crowded and it looks larger in the videos only, not in reality.

If you are planning to join MAIT thinking it has great sports infrastructure, then think again. The student POV for the sports infra at MAIT is 'non-existant'. The volleyball court is inside the cricket ground and the badminton court is operated privately and requires payment.

Do not rely on campus for internships if you are planning to join MAIT. Students from branches like VLSI and ECE says that internships generally require students to put in their own efforts and on-campus internships are almost zero and students have to find internships on their own.

VIPS is a good destination for law students.

Placements: Placements are average, with over 75% of students getting placed in law and corporate sectors. For litigation, first-generation lawyers may face challenges initially. However, success is possible with hard work and getting shortlisted. Multinational companies often visit the campus. They conduct interviews for students from B.Tech, law, B.A., and BBA courses.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average but manageable. The buildings are aesthetic, and students can often take pictures in front of the mirror-like building. There is a game pool, a basketball court, and a ground with a hill where students can sit and relax. The canteen is good. Washrooms are available on every floor. Overall, the campus is nice.

Faculty: Faculty members are knowledgeable and smart. They have diverse subject knowledge. The teaching is relevant to the curriculum and includes PSDA activities. The semester exams are easy to clear. They are not difficult for an average student, even with a week of preparation. I personally score a CGPA of over 9 with just a week of preparation.

GGSIPU review by a third-year student.

Placements: Student placement is pretty average. Roughly 50% of students get on-campus placements. The TNP cell does not make enough effort to bring companies on board. However, some students secure good off-campus placements on their own. There are no good internship opportunities either.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are good enough and air-conditioned. There are smart boards in every classroom. The library is huge and has a good number of books. There is no Wi-Fi on campus, which is a big issue. Labs are available, but some labs do not have computers. Overall, the infrastructure is good.

Faculty: Teachers are well educated and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also okay. The course curriculum is updated and has an up-to-date syllabus. There are two minor exams and one major exam in each semester. The exams are neither too difficult nor too easy. They are somewhere in between.

Other: I chose this college because of its location, good crowd, and regular events.

A complete summary of USICT GGSIPU.

Placements: The college records 250+ placement offers across various courses. The highest package is 24 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. Companies include Accenture, Wipro, and TCS. JP Morgan comes for internships. Roles offered include Software Development (SDE) and other technology-oriented roles.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent enough. The library is kind of good and big, with plenty of books available. There are just some Wi-Fi issues. Classes are fully air-conditioned and have projectors. Hostel facilities are the best. The food in the mess is really good, and the rooms are single-sharing. Sports facilities are also on the good side.

Other: A cultural fest occurs here called ANUGOONJ. It is one of Delhi's biggest fests, and that is the best thing about this college.

Helpful faculty and a friendly campus.

Placements: Placements in our college are very average. The college conducts seminars to help students build their resumes and understand their career goals. In the 3rd semester, they provide different schools for internship purposes. Although the internships are unpaid, students get genuine exposure.

Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi available for students. The canteen food is good. Labs are clean and up to date. There are medical facilities available. However, the attendance criteria are strict, and they provide medical leave for only about 5% of the attendance. Sports events are also often conducted in the college.

Faculty: Teachers are really very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach students in a very natural and engaging way. Semester exams are not difficult. Teachers already prepare us for the exams. The passing percentage is 60% in the college, although it varies.

Other: I chose this course because I was interested in building a career in this field. I think the course can be improved by providing more job placements and internship opportunities. Many extracurricular activities are conducted to give students the best exposure.

Overall, I would say that this college only has the benefit that it is in Delhi.

Placements: There are literally zero on-campus placements, though you can secure a good placement on your own capability. There is a proper internship and placement assistance cell, but it doesn't help. In this college, most students are from the litigation or judiciary perspective, so do not expect much.

Infrastructure: College infrastructure is nice and centrally located. We have a 60-acre lush green campus. Hostels are good with single occupancy, but there are no ACs or attached washrooms. The mess food is also fine. Though there are some problems with the campus as well for example, the lifts don't work at all.

Faculty: Faculty is nice but not excellent. We are mostly taught by Ph.D. scholars, so the overall teaching environment is poor. The faculty is no doubt helpful if you reach out to them on your own. Curriculum is great. We don't have much academic pressure or pressure for exams.

It has absolutely good faculty members.

Placements: The placements are average, and you can only rely on off-campus opportunities mainly. I am applying for an education loan and I have the placement record of the last 3 years, but it is just some body part numbers. For instance, CSE and IT have some good numbers, but AIML and AIDS are very low, maybe because these are new branches. However, the syllabus is revised, and these branches are also growing now.

Infrastructure: The college is overall good, but there is no air conditioning in the classrooms, so you suffer during the summer. There is a full facility for sports, and you can access all the labs equipped with good personal computers. There is no hostel available, so you reach out to nearby PGs. Wi-Fi is also available, but the password is not provided to students, however, the teachers are supportive and help you if you have an urgency.

Faculty: Faculty members are awesome, talented, and supportive to be honest. They mostly give you good internal marks and are not the strict or grumpy type. The female faculty members are also good and deliver proper lectures. You can easily reach out to them to ask any doubts, and they help you.

GGSIPU provides scholarships to students based on their academic performance and financial condition. Students can apply for GGSIPU scholarships such as the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Scheme, Merit-cum-Means Linked Financial Assistance Scheme and Hana Scholarship. Students will only get a scholarship if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. One of the scholarships offered by IP University is Kotak Kanya Scholarship.

Kotak Kanya Scholarship: This is for girl students who belong to the underprivileged section of society and want to pursue graduation. For this, they need 75% or equivalent in Class 12. Also, the annual income should not exceed INR 6 lakh. The scholarship amount offered is INR 1.5 lakh per year based on the eligibility criteria. Further eligibility requirements are given below:
