Annual Showcase for Doctoral Research
IMRDC is an annual colloquium designed to foster collaboration and encourage research among doctoral students in management and related disciplines. The conference has earned a reputation for its rigorous, constructive feedback through its unique format, where each paper is presented with an exclusive discussant. This format allows researchers to refine their work and engage with leading academics in their fields.
The first day of the conference will feature a keynote address by Professor Viral V. Acharya, a leading expert in finance and economics. Professor Acharya, C.V. Starr Professor of Economics at the New York University Stern School of Business (NYU-Stern), will speak on the topic ‘Banking Sector in India: The Past, the Present and the Future’.
His address will delve into the transformation of India’s banking sector, exploring its stabilization post-Global Financial Crisis, the current challenges posed by digital finance, and competition from non-tech lenders. Professor Acharya will also address future implications for risk management and financial stability in the banking sector and the broader economy.
Panel Discussion on Academic Job Market
On Day Two of the conference, a panel discussion on ‘Academic Job Market: Recruiters’ Perspective’ will be moderated by Professor Chetan Subramanian, RBI Chair Professor in Economics at IIM Bangalore. This discussion will provide valuable insights into the evolving academic job market and the expectations of recruiters, offering guidance for aspiring academics navigating their careers in management.
Rigorous Selection of Research Papers
This year’s IMRDC received an impressive 100 full paper submissions from doctoral students across prominent Indian and global management schools. After a meticulous three-tier review process by the IMRDC Review Committee, 11 papers were selected for presentation at the conference. Each selected paper will be critiqued by a dedicated discussant, ensuring detailed and constructive feedback for the presenters.
The conference will conclude with a certificate presentation and awards ceremony during the valedictory session. This segment will honor the outstanding contributions and innovative research presented during the event, further motivating the next generation of doctoral scholars.
