RPF Constable Eligibility

RPF Constable exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of Constable in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). The exam is conducted at a national level and because of its eligibility conditions, the number of applications is very high. The Ministry of Railway conducts the RPF constable exam as per the requirement in the force. It is not conducted regularly.

RPF Constable Nationality Condition

This recruitment is open for Indian Citizens only. Other candidates are not eligible to apply for the exam.

RPF Constable Age limit

Age criteria are the most important component of the RPF Constable Eligibility conditions. RPF Constable age limit is defined in the official notification released by the Ministry of Railway.

The RPF Constable age limit, as defined in the official notification, is given below:

Minimum Age Limit: 18 years

Maximum Age Limit: 25 years

The age will be counted from July 1 of the calendar year when the notification is issued between January and June and from January 1 if the notification is released between July to December. This condition can be amended in the official notification by the recruiting agency. It implies that the notification can mention both the date, i.e. born not before or born not after, for eligibility.

The candidates should note that age mentioned in the Matriculation/High School examination certificate or equivalent will only be accepted. No affidavit will be accepted.

RPF Constable Education Qualification

The candidate must have passed the Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised Board on the closing date of submission of the application form. Educational certificates from other educational institutions must accompany the Government of India Notification that declared that such institution is equivalent to the state board.

RPF Constable Chest Requirement for Male Candidates

The Ministry of Railway mentions the following chest requirement for the male candidates.

 *A minimum expansion of 5 cm is essential

**The candidates belonging to Garwali, Gorkha, Kumaonese, Dogra, Maratha; person hailing from Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Ladakh, Kashmir Valley and North Eastern States subject to production of domicile certificate from the District Magistrate/SDM/Tehsildar.
