RRB Group D Question Papers

RRB Group D exam comprises a single-stage computer-based test followed by the Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Test. RRB Group D Syllabus 2026

RRB Group D syllabus is prescribed by the examination authority. The Syllabus is crucial in the preparation journey. It consists of the subjects namely Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness & Current Affairs. Candidates will come to know about the topics asked in the RRB Group D exam, what to prepare, etc. Quantitative Aptitude includes 25 questions from basic and advanced mathematics and it is one of the most important sections of the exam. Through this section, candidates' calculative skills are judged. Basic Arithmetic operations questions are asked in the exam, which candidates have studied in Class 10.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2026

RRB Group D exam pattern comprises CBT, PET/PST, Verification of Documents and Medical Exam. The CBT carries four sections. Total marks allotted to the exam are 100. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. There are negative markings in the exam. The structure of RRB Group D pattern for CBT is given below.

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released RRB Group D recruitment notification for CEN 09/2025 on the official portal to fill 22082 RRB Group D vacancies. The registration is ongoing. It was started on January 31 and will close on March 2, 2026. On the other hand, The RRB Group D recruitment notification for CEN No. 08/2024 was released in the form of PDF. The application dates were January 23 to March 1, 2025. The total vacancies released were 32,438.

Q:   Can I challenge RRB Group D question papers?
A: 

RRB Group question papers are released online four days after the exam is conducted. RRBs provide the facility to challenge RRB Group D question paper. Candidates need to submit the objections online only. Candidates are required to mention the question ID against which they want to raise objections.

Q:   How useful is solving RRB Group D previous year question papers?
A: 

Solve RRB Group D previous year paper like appearing in the actual exam. They should analyse the level of preparation for the exam. Also, identify the strong and weak areas. Solving the question papers also help candidates in improving speed and accuracy. 

Q:   What is RRB Group D normalisation?
A: 
RRBs follow percentile-based normalisation in the RRB Group D exam. The percentile score of each candidate is converted into normalised marks by inserting the raw marks into the base shift. The calculation of base shift is done by using the standard mathematical formula of interpolation. The percentile score indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination.
Q:   What is base shift in the calculation of RRB Group D marks?
A: 

‘Base Shift’ is a shift having the ‘the highest Mean’ (Average) among all the shifts of CBT with a condition that its ‘Present Candidate Count’ should be 70 per cent or more than the average of all shifts. In case the ‘the highest Mean’ of two shifts is the same then the shift having ‘the highest Individual Marks’ is considered as ‘Base Shift’.

In case both ‘the highest Mean’ and ‘the highest Individual Marks’ are the same then the shift having ‘the highest Present Candidate Count’ is considered as ‘Base Shift’ to break the tie.

Q:   What is RRB Group D selection process?
A: 

RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.
