Overview

RRB Group D Exam Centres 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) will issue the RRB Group D city intimation slip around 10 days before the examination date. Group D call letter is released separately for each stage. The CBT admit card is released for all the registered candidates. The PET call letter is issued to candidates who qualify the CBT exam. Candidates will be able to download it by logging with the user ID and password. With the help of city slip, candidates will come to know the exam city that is allotted by the authority. 

However, RRB Group D exam centre details for CBT along with the timings and dates are mentioned on the RRB Group D admit card. The city intimation slip does not authorise candidates to appear for the exam. Candidates are allowed to appear for the exam only if the RRB Group D admit card is issued.

RRB Group D Exam Centres 2026

Candidates will be required to choose RRB Group D exam centres while filling their application forms. Usually, RRBs allot exam centres as per the preferences given by the candidates. In case of a shortage of seats in a particular centre, candidates are allotted to the next available centre. RRB Group D exam is conducted to fill up vacancies in Level 1 posts such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman, etc. Candidates can check below the list of exam cities for the RRB Group D CBT exam.

RRB Group D CBT 1 admit card will be released for candidates who successfully registered for the exam. As per RRB Group D admit card date, the hall ticket will be made available four days before the exam. RRBs conduct PET after the first stage of CBT. Candidates who clear the PET are called for the document verification process and medical exam. Candidates three times the number of vacancies were called for PET. The PET is qualifying nature. RRB Group D admit card will be made available online only four days before the exam. Candidates can get it through the simple process given below.

  • Enter user ID, password and verification code
  • rrbcdg.gov.in admit card appears on the screen
  • Download and take its printout 

Therefore, admit card is an important document and is mandatory to carry at the examination centre on the day of an exam. If a candidate forgets to carry the hall ticket, then he or she will not be able to sit in the exam. The admit card consists of all the information related to the exam centre, timings, exam instructions, etc.

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released RRB Group D recruitment notification for CEN 09/2025 on the official portal to fill 22082 RRB Group D vacancies. It was started on January 31 and closed on March 9, 2026. The notification for the same was released on January 30. The last date for fee payment was March 11, 2026. The application correction and modification dates were March 15 to 21.

RRB Group D Preparation will help candidates to plan their strategy for the exam. It is necessary to have good level of preparation to clear the exam. Candidates should know the exam pattern.The questions in this section are of Class 10 and 12 levels. Candidates can refer to their high school books to brush up the topics. Revise all the important chapters of Science. Candidates should learn the shortcut methods of solving questions. Understand the formulas and concepts. They must attempt practice test. Candidates must identify their weaknesses, etc.

Q:   What are the documents that candidates need to carry to the RRB Group D exam centre?
A: 

Candidates are required to fill the details of a valid Photo ID card in the application which they are required to bring in original as identity proof during CBT, PET, DV, Medical or any subsequent stages of exam. The valid Photo ID Card should be any one of the following:

  • Voter Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Printout of e-Aadhaar (not Photostat/Scanned copy of Aadhaar)
  • Driving License
  • PAN card
  • Passport
  • Identity Card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a Govt. employee
  • College / University Photo ID card, if still studying
Q:   How to select RRB Group D exam centres?
A: 

The list of test centres for RRB Group D exam are mentioned in the notification. Need to select the same while filling the online form. Only one exam city can be selected for the exam.

Q:   Can I change my state in the RRB group D form?
A: 

Yes, candidates can change their states in the RRB Group D exam. This can be done by first choosing 'Application Modification' which is available in the home page of the registration portal. After candidates have chosen the preferred state, they need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 100 for modifying the application. Once candidates have successfully paid the application fee they can make the necessary changes and then submit it. Please note that candidates will not be able to edit your registration number, email id, mobile number, and your zone. Candidates are required to fill the application form online. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.

Q:   How to avail the free rail travel facility for RRB Group D exam?
A: 
The free rail travel facility (Sleeper class railway pass) for RRB Group D is available only for SC/ST candidates. The admit card for such candidates contains the free travel authority. Candidates are allowed to book tickets only on submission of the self-attested photocopy of the RRB Group D admit card and SC/ST Certificate. Candidates must carry the original SC/ST Certificate and one prescribed photo-identity proof in original during their journey.
Q:   Which are the items banned inside RRB Group D exam centres?
A: 

The items that are banned inside the RRB Group D exam centres are Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, blue tooth, pen drive, laptops, calculators,  wrist watches or any other communication devices or pen/pencil, wallet/purses, belts, shoes and metallic wears including ornaments etc. Any infringement of this instruction shall entail summary rejection besides legal action including debarment from future examinations. Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones etc. to the venue of the examination.

Q:   I have applied from Allahabad zone. Can I download my RRB Group D admit card from Kolkata zone?
A: 

Candidates need to download your RRB Group D admit card from the railway zone they have applied for the exam. The admit card can be downloaded by logging with the required credentials. Candidates need to carry the printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identify proof to the exam centre.
