The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be held from September 12 to 26 as a CBE at the designated exam centres. The Commission released the shift timing of the candidates on September 3 with their application status and Exam City Information at ssc.gov.in. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be conducted as per the details mentioned in the admit card.

The SSC CGL Tier 1 shift timings are very important for the candidates because they are required to plan their itineraries for the exam day and make travel arrangements. The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam dates of the candidates on September 3 along with the shift timing of the candidate. The Commission will release the SSC CGL Tier 1 admit card with full details about the exam centres just two/three days before the exam date of the candidate. The SSC CGL 2025 will be conducted from September 12 to 26 at the designated exam centres. The candidates can see herethe  SSC CGL Tier 1 shift timing, exam day instructions and the list of valid photo identity proofs required at the exam centre.

SSC CGL Shift Timings 2025: The Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam across the nation from September 12 to 26, 2025. The Commission has already released the SSC CGL application status, date of examination, city of examination and the shift of Tier 1 exam for the candidates on September 3. The candidates can check their application status and download their SSC CGL admit card accordingly because the admit card will be available only two/three days before their exam date.

The Commission will conduct the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam as per the syllabus and exam pattern notified in the official notification.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Shift Timing 2025

The candidates should note that their exam will be conducted based on the exam timing mentioned on their SSC CGL admit card. The candidates are advised to reach their assigned exam centre as per their reporting time mentioned in their admit card. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is the most important tier because it will decide the fate of the candidate and their future participation in the exam. The CBE will be conducted based on the SSC CGL syllabus mentioned in the official notification. The candidates should try to maximise their scores so that they beat the competition. Below are the SSC CGL shift timings as notified by the Staff Selection Commission in its official communications:

The shift 4 is conducted at some exam centres only, hence it is written as optional. The candidates are advised to check their admit card for more details. SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is conducted online. The test paper carries four sections English Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. The test carries a total of 100 multiple-choice questions of 200 marks. SSC CGL exam timing for Tier 1 is one hour. 

SSC CGL Shift Timing 2025: General Instructions

SSC CGL exam day guidelines are given below. Candidates must strictly follow these guidelines or else they will be debarred from appearing in the exam:

  • The candidates should reach the exam centre as mentioned on their admit card.
  • Candidates need to bring two copies of their latest colored photo
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry items such as watches, books, pens, paper chits, magazines, or electronic gadgets (mobile phones, headphones, scanner, calculator, storage devices etc) in the examination lab
  • Candidates need to bring the printed copy of SSC CGL admit card 2025
  • Frisking and biometric verification of candidates will be done before they are given entry to the exam hall

List of Valid Photo Identity Proofs

  • Candidate has to produce at least one photo-identity proof from the one given below:
  1. Aadhaar Card / Printout of e-Aadhaar
  2. Voter's ID Card
  3. Driving License
  4. Passport
  5. PAN Card
  6. Service ID Card issued to employees by Central Govt./ State Govt./PSUs
  7. ID Card issued by University/ College/ School
  8. Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book issued by the Ministry of Defense
  9. Any other Photo Identity Proof issued by Central Govt./ State Govt.

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL Tier 2 Shift timing in a tabular format. The candidates can see it below:

The Commission will be conducting the SSC CGL 2025 Tier 2 exam at the designated exam centres. The candidates will be informed about their SSC CGL exam centre only through their SSC CGL admit card.

The candidates should note that the candidates will be required to report at the SSC CGL exam centre at the time mentioned on their admit card. No. The Tier 1 marks for the SSC CGL are not used in the preparation of the final merit list. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates are shortlisted for Tier 2 exam. However, the final selection and ranking is based on the marks obtained in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
