SSC CGL Pay Levels 2026
The salary is the monthly earnings that candidates get after clearing the SSC CGL exam and join Group B and C posts in the central government ministries and departments. The SSC CGL salary provides clear idea about the pay scale, grade pay, allowances and in-hand salary for the candidates selected for the Group B and C posts. SSC CGL Salary 2026: Other Allowances (HRA, TA, DA)
Apart from the basic pay, SSC CGL salary also include other components such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA) etc.
House Rent Allowance
HRA is provided to employees to meet their house rent needs. The HRA given to candidates varies as per the city in which they are posted and is broadly divided into three categories:

Dearness Allowance
DA or Dearness Allowance is a cost of living adjustment allowance and is presently 58 pr cent of the basic pay as per the recent government orders.

SSC CGL In Hand Salary - How to Calculate?
The salary of the SSC CGL posts is the same because the pay levels will be revised only after the recommendations of the Pay Commission. The Pay Commission is constituted by the Union Government of India at intervals of 10 or more years. The associated allowances with the post change over time which changes the salary-in-hand of the employee. SSC CGL officer's salary differs from post to post. The percentage of allowances provided to the employees remains the same but the basic salary is different from post to post.

No. The Tier 1 marks for the SSC CGL are not used in the preparation of the final merit list. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates are shortlisted for Tier 2 exam. However, the final selection and ranking is based on the marks obtained in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam.
