Q. Which books did you refer for IAS exam?
This is a long list and I am sharing the list as follows.
Modern History – Spectrum (Rajiv Ahir).
Ancient & Medieval History – It is advised that one should read old NCERT. But this part was weak for me. So I used to read Tamil Nadu Board Book and Lucent book of general knowledge.
Art & Culture-I followed Nitin Singhania book on Art & Culture. That’s a very good book in my opinion. But people tend to find it long.
Geography-I studied from Vajiram Notes, Yellow Book, NCERT (11th & 12th), GC Leong & Mrunal videos and made short notes from it and always used to refer it.
For map-watch a video or two of places in the news. Also frequently spend time watching atlas and identifying important places.
Polity-Laxmikant & Current Affairs (Legislation & Policy) & tests. There are important committees (apart from polity also) one must learn them also. This can be used in mains answer writing also.
Environment & Ecology-Old and New biology NCERT. For E&E current affairs is most important. So one has to read about all national parks, biosphere reserves, sanctuaries, species (especially in India & in News), and several organizations and bodies. One should also take the tests to fill the gap and practice the art of elimination.
Economy-Shriram IAS notes and Mrunal Videos. Newspaper & current Affairs and test. Economic Survey – if not complete then only the summary.
International Relations-Newspaper & Current Affairs material & Test.
Science &Technology-Newspaper & Current Affairs material & Test & general awareness.
Social Issues-Newspaper & Current Affairs material & Test.
Q. How the candidate should make study plan for the IAS exam?
They should have a long vision maybe for a month or two and plan their week or day accordingly.

One should not be complacent and work hard with dedication and commitment. Focus on revision and solving test and writing answers.
Q. What do you suggest to the future candidates preparing for the IAS exam?
One should remain motivated and give their best. And also enjoy the journey to learn new things, make friends and have good memories of this time irrespective of the result.
