-
Self Declaration Undertaking: It is mandatory to fill up the Self Declaration Undertaking and paste your passport-size photograph (same as that printed on the admit card) and put your left-hand thumb impression.
-
Decide your attire in advance: As insignificant as it may seem, attire or garments worn on the exam day play an important role. It must be comfortable and as simple as possible. Those wearing religious or customary attire must reach the centre in advance to facilitate proper security checks.
-
Reach the CUET exam centre on time: Candidates have to report to the centre at least one hour in advance, and the gates will close half an hour before the test. Hence, leave your home on time after assessing the traffic and weather conditions. Also, decide the mode of transport in advance and plan your schedule accordingly.

Visit the CUET exam centre a day in advance: If possible, visit the exam centre a day before the exam day to confirm the location and assess the duration of the commute, as well as the ideal mode of transport.
-
Take the assigned seat: After entering the exam hall, check the seating arrangement properly and enter the assigned room and take the correct seat.
-
Follow the invigilator’s instructions: Follow the instructions of the invigilators thoroughly. Also, in case of any discrepancy regarding the exam, you must seek the invigilator’s help. If you need to leave the exam centre during the test, you have to seek their permission. A duly filled-in Admit Card must be handed over to the Invigilator while leaving the examination Hall/Room.
-
Crosscheck CUET 2024 question paper with the subjects written on admit card: Ensure that the CUET question paper available on the computer screen is as per his/her opted subject/medium indicated in the admit card. -
Do rough work in the space provided: Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room. Write your name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheet(s) and hand over the sheet/s to the invigilator without fail, before leaving the Examination Hall/Room. CUET Exam-Taking Strategy
Now we bring the tips to attempt the CUET exam or strategies to attempt the question paper.
-
Read the questions thoroughly: Before starting the exam, read all the questions thoroughly. This will give you an idea of what is in store for you. Based on this, you will have to select the questions you are confident in attempting.
-
Select the question to attempt in each section: In each section, there will be some buffer questions. Hence, you must select the questions you want to attempt in advance so that you do not waste time selecting questions once the exam starts.
-
Keep a check on the onscreen timer: Always keep an eye on the onscreen exam timer to keep a tab on the timing. This will help you with time management.
-
Start with sections or questions you are confident in: To boost your confidence level, start with the questions you are completely sure of. This will also save time. After that, you can attempt the questions from your weak areas.
-
Do not spend much time on a question: Do not spend more than three to four minutes per question. In case a question takes more time than this, you can mark those questions for review and revisit them later on.
-
Revise before submission: Before submitting the test, revise each of the questions and answers thoroughly. In case of any wrong marking, change the answer option selection. Also, check the rough sheet properly and ensure that you have written your name and Roll number on top of each page.
-
Keep in mind the negative marking: Try not to attempt questions based on guesses. It is seen that candidates attempt many questions just by guessing the answer, resulting in negative marking. This way, candidates lose their marks. Candidates need to be aware of the implications and results of the negative marking scheme.
