M.Sc. in Science Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir

Admission to CU Kashmir includes merit and entrance based eligibility criteria. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 12 along with valid scores in CUET UG/PG for the admission to UG and PG level courses. Furthermore, candidates must apply through the official website of the University. Shortlisted candidates must pay the fees and confirm the seat.

During 2021 placements, 34% of UG (4-year) and 43% of PG (2-year) students were placed. Looking at the past three years' data, a fluctuating trend was recorded in the placement rate of UG and PG courses. Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu usually releases the application form in May. The application closes by June. SKUAST also opens the correct window for submitted application form in the first week of June. Aspirants can apply online once the portal opens for the preferred course.

Kashmir University admissions are primarily entrance-based. The university conducts KUET for admission to UG and PG courses. The university also accepts CMAT for MBA, GATE for MTech, GPAT for MPharm, GAT-B for MSc Biotechnology. The university also considers scores in UGAT, JEE Main, etc.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers BTech across five specialisations. During SMVDU cutoff 2023, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 94017, for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering was 227213, for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering was 402493, for B.Tech. in Civil Engineering was 657668 and for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering was 505053 for the General category All India seat. Hence, candidate with a rank of 1,35,000 in JEE Main can get a seat at SMVDU in all the specialisations except for BTech CSE as per the last year cutoff. 

NIT Srinagar is ranked #79 in the NIRF 2024 rankings under the Engineering category. It is the second best among the NIRF-ranked colleges in Jammu and Kashmir. The NIRF ranking of the institute over the years present a fluctuating trend.

Successfully making it to the list of various ranking agencies at the national level, IIT Jammu ranked at 56 position in the recently released NIRF ranking 2025. Additionally, it also holds a record of offering the highest and average package of INR 53 LPA and INR 15.5 LPA, respectively, to the students.
