IIT Gandhinagar is good.
Placements: About 60% of the students got placed in the last batch. The highest salary package offered is about 15 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is about 4 LPA and the average salary package offered is about 7 LPA. Top companies include DRDO, HPCL, etc. More than 80% of the students got an internship in companies. Both academic and industrial internships are available.
Infrastructure: It is one of the new IITs. Hence infrastructure is very good. For the chemical department, different labs and classrooms are available. The library has sufficient reading materials for the chemical department. All others like hostel and food are rated as 4 stars. For games and sports, a brand new complex had built which is still to open due to covid.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders from top universities of the world. Faculty members are very good in terms of teaching quality and are knowledgeable. The course is more relevant to the academic career like who wants to go deep in research and that area. It provides sufficient industrial knowledge.
Other: It's really good college.

How are the placements in Indian Institute of Technology for Ph.D in Physics students?

IIT's are prestigious but when it comes to PhD, you should probably opt for a course abroad if you have decent marks in your undergraduate and graduate programs, as the job opportunities almost triple. IITs are mainly good for pursuing engineering, that's what I believe
