AKTU MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Uttar Pradesh Technical University offers a two-year MTech programme under 19 specialisations. For seeking admission to the programme, candidates need to possess a valid UPSEE rank (now CUET PG). GATE-qualified candidates are also considered for AKTU MTech admission. However, such candidates first need to undergo a counselling process along with UPSEE-qualified candidates for seat allotment. AKTU offers a full-time DPharm through City Group of College, which is a college affiliated to AKTU. The college offers a two-year Diploma in Pharmacy for candidates who have passed Class 12 in the stream of Science. Admission to the programme is granted based on the applicants' merit in Class 12, subject to fulfiment of the eligibility criteria and availability of seats. The DPharm fee at City Group of College is INR 5.2 lakh. The mentioned fee is sourced from official sources but is still subject to change.
Yes, candidates seeking admission to DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University undergraduate and postgraduate courses must have appeared for the CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance exams, respectively. AKTU will not admit students who do not a valid CUET score. NTA usually releases CUET result in July. CUET UG Counselling is held and conducted separately by the participating institutes. CUET UG Counselling is usually held between Jul and Aug.
AKTU has recorded good placements for its Institute of Engineering and Technology. As per the report, the highest package offered in 2024 was 53 LPA. The off-campus highest package was 112 LPA. IET recorded average package of 8.2 LPA in 2024.

AKTU releases its cutoff through its affiliated colleges. The last round closing scores for different colleges varied between 435 and 17104 if you belong to the General AI category. Therefore, it is possible to get admission at any affiliated college of the university at 20000 rank. The top colleges could be Fort Institute of Technology, R. D. Engineering College Technical Campus and Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management, with the last round closing score of 17104, 16842 and 16384, respectively.
After the JEE Main session 2 result announced, candidates need to first head on to official JEE Main website to know the performance in terms of rank and marks on the portal. You further need to download the scorecard to assess your performance. The needed details to log in are application number and birth date. Apart checking scorecard and rank, they need to check out their qualifying status. Based on your results, you then have to make up your mind to prepare for JEE Advanced or not to get into the IITs. Moreover, the candidates who qualify the JEE Main exam will be allowed to sit for the counselling rounds of NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutes. While applying for the counselling, candidates must have to ensure that all the necessary documents are ready to be submitted. And, at last they have to regularly check and track the important dates regarding the counselling rounds or JEE Advanced exam timeline to avoid any rush at the end of a counselling round.

AKTU offers scholarship assistance to students belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC category under the regulations of the UP State Scholarship scheme. Every year, UP State releases a notification for fee reimbursement for the students of AKTU and its affiliated colleges. Students studying in AKTU can register themselves for fee-waiver scholarship schemes through the Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement Online System of UP State. New students can register online for UPTU Scholarship by visiting the official portal designed for fee reimbursement procedures. It is recommended that candidates must apply for the scholarships at the earliest.
AKTU is a state-level, public collegiate university. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), it is a University of National Importance, specially for the UG and PG courses offered in the field of Engineering and Science. AKTU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Coming to the AKTU placements, the university has not released the placement report for the year 2023. However, as per media reports, 1,531 students were selected in TCS. A total of 318 students were placed with a package of INR 7.60 LPA in TCS Digital and rest 1,213 students were placed with a package of INR 3.60 LPA in TCS Ninja during AKTU placement 2023.
Presently, the University houses four constituent colleges, including the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Architecture Lucknow, Centre for Advanced Studies, UP Institute of Design Noida. Apart from this, the University has 45+ affiliated colleges and 780+ institutes under its name. AKTU accepts JEE Main Scores for admission to the BTech and BTech Integrated courses. AKTU BTech cutoff 2024 has been concluded and as per the available data, the cutoff ranged between 30751.6 and 1413411 for the General AI category candidates. Wherein, the B.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering was the most competitive course with a Last Round closing rank of 30751.6 for the General AII India category students.
DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University is expected to conduct a total of six rounds for CUET-UG-qualified candidates. However, the cutoff rounds are conducted as per seat availability. If seats are available after AKTU round six of the counselling process, the University will release the special round to fulfil their vacant seats.
Students must complete BE/BTech with 60% aggregate (54% for SC/ ST students) with a valid UPTAC rank. Those who have a valid GATE exam are also eligible for admission. However, such candidates first need to appear for the counselling session along with UPTAC rank.
AKTU releases cutoff through its affiliated colleges. At 15000 score, it is possible to get admission to a few colleges including R. D. Engineering College Technical Campus, for which the last round closing score was 16842 for the General AI category candidates. Other best college at this score could be Shri Ramswaroop Memorial College of Engineering and Management, with last round closing score of 16384. Technical Education and Research Institute (TERI, Ghazipur) could also be considered which had the last round closing score of 15844.
