AKTU BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University BTech is offered across multiple specialisations. These are offered through the affiliated colleges as well. The direct admission is provided only on vacant seats at institution or college level. The eligibility criteria for direct admission on seats remaining vacant in the first year after entrance examination counselling shall be such as may be notified from time to time. The general admission process for AKTU BTech course is through entrance exam. The university accepts national or state-level entrance exams like JEE Main, CUET, KEAM or IPU CET.
The selection will be followed by counselling. The counselling process of shortlisted candidates will be managed and regulated by AKTU based on which the candidates will be allotted seats. The AKTU BTech admission process is a multi-step process. It includes the application process, entrance exam, shortlisting, document verification, etc. All the steps included in the process of AKTU admission for the BTech programme are as follows:
1. AKTU BTech Application Process
The first step in the application process for BTech at AKTU admission begins with the online application process. Students seeking admission to an AKTU-affiliated institute must visit the official website of the respective institute to apply. The application form must be duly filled out and submitted with the required documents and the application fee. Further, students must register and appear for one of the accepted entrance exams.
2. Selection Rounds
BTech admission at AKTU is based on JEE Main scores. For BTech in Biotechnology and BTech in Agriculture, the university accepted CUET UG scores. Seats are allocated through the UPTAC counselling conducted and regulated by AKTU. Direct admission to B.Sc. Biotechnology in AKTU isn't allowed. You need to go through CUET or the official counselling process. With 88% in ISC, you're eligible academically, but admission is based on entrance exam scores, not board marks alone. There's no management quota or direct entry option in

AKTU Lucknow provides a recognised BPharma programme but students' reviews are mixed. The fees range from INR 80,000 to 5.4 Lacs and average placement is INR 3 to 4 lpa. The students says the exam evaluation is poor, and many face backlog issues. So it's better to choose college wisely.
