B.Tech. in Mechanical and Automation Engineering - Batch of 2027
4.2
Absolutely satisfied because of campus and academics, good placement for B.Tech.
Placements: More than 70% of students got placed with a median salary of Rs 50,000 monthly. The highest package was around 7 LPA last year. The lowest was 4 LPA. Average was around 6 LPA. Volvo, Manhindra & Mahindra, Reliance, and Honda were the top recruiters. 100% of students were offered internships by IT companies like TCS, Wipro, etc. Core companies like Reliance, Mahindra, and Tata. Retail, operations, and QC/QA are the top roles along with some R&D.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, functional labs, spacious classrooms, centralized library, and canteen are available. Other high-quality facilities include hostel, ATM, cafe coffee day, water coolers, elevator, centralized air conditioning, clinic, sports complex including gym and swimming pool, basketball court, cricket pitch, football field, etc.
Faculty: Highly helpful, amiable, qualified, and knowledgeable faculty members are there throughout the departments. Course curriculum is relevant and apt as per the new education policy and other higher standards. It's optimised for making pupils industry-ready. Semester exams are medium difficult but are easy with a little effort in studying and being attentive in classes. Most times, less than 90% is the pass percentage.
Other: Campus life is enough to choose this college. Academics are an added bonus. Labs and practical classes should improve. Events happen all the time with Amiphoria fest once a year. Campus life is smooth and easy. Surroundings are aesthetic, green, and eco-friendly. Scholarship is easily awarded to eligible students. Extracurricular activities are facilitated through existing active clubs.

Review of Amity University, Kolkata.
Placements: Placements in our college are as usual. One can expect an average salary package of 2 LPA. The placement cell is quite helpful. Mostly, you can expect a job through an off-campus drive. Few core companies visit the campus for placements. The placement training is provided from the 2nd year so that the students can have higher chances of getting placed in the final year. There are various internship opportunities as well.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled and air-conditioned. The canteen is good. Labs are equipped with well-maintained machinery. Doctors are always available in the college. The hostel is very good and air-conditioned. The campus is huge, but there are no fields, pool or gym facilities. Overall, the infrastructure is quite good and impressive.
Faculty: The college offers various courses and a student can choose one according to their interest. Faculty members in the college are helpful and good. Most of the teachers are knowledgeable and able to make all the students understand the subject. Industry exposure is often provided. They also guide students for extracurricular activities that are conducted during the course. Faculty members are helpful. Attendance is mandatory.
Other: Scholarships are provided at the time of admission based on the 12th standard results of a student. Amiphoria is a big fest hosted by Amity.

B.Tech. in Mechanical and Automation Engineering - Batch of 2020

Amity University Kolkata is one of the best private colleges.
Placements: Placements of our batch have not yet started as I am in 5th semester, but our senior batch is the first batch to get placed in top companies. Our college started 4 years ago, and our seniors have already secured good salary packages. Internships are a must in our college. Some students got a stipend of up to Rs. 10,000 per month in an internship while most of them worked hard for the excellence certificate. Unequivocally one gets a job when completing a B.Tech from our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is top-notch. We have Amity Clinic, academic block, Wi-Fi, 2-floor library, music and sports like football, badminton, table tennis, basketball, etc. All labs are good except for the automobile lab in our college. We have special fluid mechanics and metal cutting lab.
Faculty: We have a compulsory FBL, i.e., Foreign Business Language, where we get an option to choose German or French, which should be compulsory across all colleges in India. Other than that, subjects like behavioural science, soft skills and aptitude are provided which enhance our personality. Teachers are well-trained and highly qualified. They send study materials and guides for helping us to prepare for exams. They are available in college, even on holidays.
Other: Our college is a part of the educational hub in Newtown Kolkata. You can bring your vehicle bike or car, or come via college bus, auto, electric-bus and taxi to college. Parking space is provided in front of the college. But the security guards never let us park near the gates. There is even a traffic jam in the morning due to rush.

Amity University is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata.
Placements: Placements were good in our college, and companies offer very good salary packages. Placements of our seniors are quite good as about 50% of the students got placed until now. In upcoming days, more companies will visit, and the remaining 50% of the students will surely get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Amity University Kolkata is very beautiful. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned, and the library is very nice, which is a very good place to study. Medical facilities are also available, and hostels rooms are superb. The campus is very beautiful.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, and they all are well qualified. Many of the professors have above 20 years of experience, and they are from the US, Germany, UK, etc. Their behaviour is good, and they are very helpful as they will help us in every situation.

A well recognised and reputed college.
Placements: Our senior batch is the first batch to get placed, since our college is just established few years ago. We have been encouraged to go on internships that are arranged by the college. Many of my seniors are placed with the salary of their choice. It is highly recommended to expect high scopes from my college.
Infrastructure: Well, with centralised A. C, two-storey library, 2 large canteens, 9 floor hostel, an upcoming 23 floor academic block, free Wi-Fi, and tons of 5 starred features our college is best in terms of infrastructure. Though we have a small football field which gets damaged every time it rains. Our college offers all sports and games.
Faculty: All teachers are good and we have to give faculty feedback twice every semester. The departments are sorted accordingly with ample teachers. Assistant professors help us even if they don't teach us. We have projectors in all classrooms, teachers use PPT and other innovative techniques to teach. The course is complied from Noise (head).
Other: Campus life is great and energetic during college. But the hostel rules are strict. We can go out of campus for an hour during lunch. We regularly take part in numerous events. The blood donation camps are set every year here.

The college has to give importance to several other aspects.
Placements: We haven't yet gone through the placement process, but as per our seniors, only a few companies visited the college. Mainly, the companies relating to marketing and sales visit the campus. No company relating to technical department visits the college. 6 to 10 LPA is the minimum package offered till date. Roles offered are related to management and commerce.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The campus is not huge, but it is good and has a peaceful environment. Still, the process of widening the campus is ongoing. Labs are still incomplete as the college is undergoing some construction work. The college has two cafeterias. Wi-Fi facility is available, but its speed is a bit low compared to other colleges. A hostel is present inside the campus, but it has too many rules to bare.
Faculty: The faculty are good and help us a lot, not only in subjects but we can also learn many things related to life. Other than core subjects, some extra subjects are also taught due to which, we are unable to manage time for the core ones.
Other: Some clubs are formed in the college, which conduct seminars and activities such as sports and games. Amiphoria is the fest conducted on the campus.

Faculty members of the college are good.
Placements: The placements were just started for our campus. Some of the students have got placed when some are still waiting and weighing up options on where to get placed. Some companies have visited already and hired some students when some are destined to visit the campus in the near future. Mostly, management posts were offered. The highest package offered was about 10 LPA whereas the lowest was 4 LPA as per the report. All the students were offered internship opportunities through the college itself. The placement cell is quite good.
Infrastructure: Our college has a Wi-Fi enabled smart campus. The classrooms are designed like a gallery making it fantastic and also easier to communicate. The quality of food in the canteen is also quite good and hygienic. The hostel is centrally air-conditioned. There are no issues with the infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty members are good, but they can get better. However, they are qualified. They possess acceptable teaching qualities, and they are suitable to teach. They are friendly with students. Industry exposure is provided as they organise visits to many government and private institutions though there are some problems from the higher authorities.
Other: Fest and events are organised. The connectivity is not that good. Scholarships are provided, and the extracurricular activities are well organised.

Be aware before joining Amity University, Kolkata.
Placements: Placements in the college are not 100%. Few companies came to the Kolkata campus for recruitment, and seniors went to the main campus in Noida for placements. I hope they will be placed in some good company. Further updates about the placements can be seen on the Amity University, Kolkata website.
Infrastructure: The campus looks beautiful from outside. The laboratory is not set up properly, though instruments were bought they were not set up. We have to pressurise the authorities to set up the laboratory. Mechanical branch 5th-semester students were not taught welding due to the absence of proper equipment. Wi-Fi facility was made available after a long time.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are average. There is no proper coordination between the faculty and higher authorities as there is always a blame game between them. The previous HOD of mechanical department applied a divide and rule policy between the students by empowering some of them to misuse their power.
Other: An event named Amiphoria is organised in the college. Seminars are also held in the college, and scholarships are provided to the meritorious students.
