Candidates aspiring to pursue M.Tech from CUSAT shall have BE/BTech/Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum 60% aggregate. The selection is further done by the university committee basis on the applicant’s score in the qualifying examinations (GATE/CUSAT DAT).

Yes. The Non-GATE entrants can take admission with a valid Department Admission Test (DAT) score or ‘A and B’ exams score conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India). Candidates can apply for the DAT exam by visiting the CUSAT website.

Aspirants need to fill out the online form (admission.cusat.ac.in) and submit it for being eligible to take admission. However, the seat allotment for each M.Tech programme shall be on the applicant’s GATE score. Candidates without a GATE exam score can take CUSAT DAT/ Sections A and B exam by the Institution of Engineers (India).

CUSAT offers M.Tech in full-time and part-time modes. The full-time course is of two-year duration with four semesters and the M.Tech part-time course is of three years with six semesters. The PG-course is available in 16 specialisations. Admission to the M.Tech courses at Cochin University is entrance-based.

Candidates need to qualify CUSAT CAT to get admission to Integrated BSc-MSc programmes. The university releases course-wise cutoff rank list. As per the below 2023 closing rank for All India Category, the highest was 29 for Biological Science. The lowest rank was of 62 of Physical and Mathematics. Yes, CUSAT conducts Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test for providing admission to Integrated BSc-MSc courses. Based on CUSAT CAT result, rank list is prepared after completion of CUSAT CAT. The CUSAT CAT examination is a computer-based test (CBT) test conducted for a duration of 3 hours. The syllabus of CUSAT CAT includes chapters and topics of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics that are relevant from the examination point of view. CUSAT CAT syllabus is of Class 11 and Class 12 standard.

Yes, students can join Cochin University of Science and Technology. It is mantary for students to qualify the Class 12 to appear for UG and PG courses. Aspiring canddidates must have to qualify the neligibility criteria set by the institute for thendesired course. 

CUSAT admission to BTech course is based on CUSAT CAT score. The university also conducts a Lateral Entry Test (LET) to select candidates for BTech (LE) courses. LET is a three-hour test including 200 objective-type questions designed to test proficency in English, Mathematics, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics and General Engineering.

The university selects candidates for BTech (PT) courses based on merit in the last qualifying exam and admission test conducted by the department. CUSAT also considers the number of years of experience of candidates after obtaining the diploma.
