In the field of Arts, Gauhati University offers MA and MA/MSc programmes across 19 and five specialisations, respectively. For final admission to all these courses, the University conducts an entrance exam. Selected candidates are required to take admission on payment of the admission fee.

Candidate must have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with Major/honours courses in the concerned subject or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with a general pass course with at least mentioned marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate or equivalent CGPA. [45% Marks is to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in Part I and Part II of the (2+1) pattern and part I, part II and Part III of the (1+1+1) pattern are eligible to seek admission to the University. However, certain specific eligibility criteria have been fixed by the concerned departments and these are applicable especially for the interdisciplinary subjects.

Overall, the best university for the M.A. in education course.

Placements: In my university, almost 90% of students got placed. The highest package offered is 12 LPA. The minimum package offered is 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Fullmind, Proximity Learning, Kelly Education, etc. Almost 85% of the students got their internships. The higher-level roles offered are Education Counselor, School Counselor, and more.

Infrastructure: The facilities are top-notch, with excellent labs and all amenities like Wi-Fi. Classrooms are large, and the library is excellent. The university also has hotels where we enjoy good food. The mess is clean and offers a variety of food compared to the restaurant. They provide medical facilities and supply or manufacture sports and play equipment.

Faculty: Our teachers are graduates of the top schools in the world. The curriculum of our university has been designed to keep pace with current technological developments and the job market. The curriculum prepares you for both advanced courses and jobs at mainstream educational institutions. Semester exams are rigorous, training you to face tough challenges in university and beyond.

I'm dissatisfied with the fact that classes are not taken seriously.

Placements: Around 40-50% of students got placed in our course. The salary offered is 6,000 - Rs. 7,000. Our college is very nice and everything is good. It's very good to study. The course I've taken is also very good and mesmerizing.

Infrastructure: The facilities are good, and our classroom has digital features. I was never part of the hostel, but the sports facilities are good, and so is the medical support. I like to play sports and have always wanted to join NCC, but it's not available in our college, which is unfortunate because NCC is an activity that we young people love.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching was also very good. The pass percentage might be around 40%, but the semester exams are quite tough. I hope I don’t get such bad marks in the future, because this semester's exams are very difficult.

Other: I chose this course because I want to learn it so I can never disappoint myself by thinking I can't do it. I am very bad at writing and memorizing Hindi. The campus crowd is lively.

I chose M.A. in Mathematics instead of M.Sc. in Mathematics.

Placements: The succession in the rate of placements falls below 65% for the discipline of mathematics. The placement team decide which student can participate in which company drives. The median salary package offered to the hired talents in our discipline was below 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: Gawhati University is a popular university and produces thousands of talents in every single new batch. Along with the highly spacious mess, a cafeteria is also present. The arrangements of alumni gatherings every year create a higher reach to the university. The addition of sports is a necessary physical activity in their schedule.

Faculty: The course syllabus included 21 papers, with five papers per semester, with four main papers and one elective paper in each semester. All those will be a mixture of basic Maths topics, and the question papers are created by the faculty members, making them more critical by varying the values.

Overall best university for M.A. in economics course.

Placements: Over 92% of the students are placed. Although the pay offered once I finish my studies is not very good, I would still like to pursue further education and earn a master's degree in economics. Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Brain & Company, and others are the leading hiring firms. Risk analysts and financial planners are among the most sought-after positions available. Approximately 90% of students can find employment.

Infrastructure: The amenities are first-rate. Classrooms, labs, sports facilities, a library, and Wi-Fi are among the amenities offered. A playground existed at this university. The classrooms could easily hold between 100 and 150 pupils. The hostel has first-rate facilities. An excellent meal at a fair price is served in the restaurant. Medical care is available. There is plenty of space in the classrooms.

Faculty: The university program is informative and well-designed. However, the curriculum structure is quite antiquated and reminiscent of educational institutions where we acquire theoretical knowledge without any real-world application. Therefore, I would suggest that it needs to get better in this instance. Both the instructors and their methods are very technological. The pass rate for the moderate semester exams is 56%.

It is an average college for M.A. In History.

Placements: The minimum GPA required for admission to this college is 75%. The highest remuneration package in the second year of high school is 4.5 LPA. 3.5 LPA is the lowest pay that is offered. The honors professor of history position is, in my opinion, the most significant position at our college.

Infrastructure: Our course infrastructure is top-notch and very effective going forward. The other hostel residents are helpful, and the food and hospitality are good. Students can choose from a range of meal options at the canteen, such as momos, friend price, chowmein, and more.

Faculty: Teachers have a wealth of knowledge and can help you develop your abilities. They help you with your studies, provide you with chances to develop your individuality and treat you like family. In addition to giving me a general understanding of the subject, the course I'm doing helps me get ready for competitive assessment.

Overall, it is the best university for the M.A. in History course.

Placements: 72% of students are placed with packages ranging from 15 LPA to 27 LPA in companies like History TV18, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and many others. Many students get placed in 2024. There are some challenges, but we need to understand the lessons and learn from them. Actually, it's good because nobody offers courses under 5 LPA, which is fine. The top roles are writers, editors, etc. Many students get internships.

Infrastructure: Each department has separate classes with proper resources. Sub-labs are also available for every subject. Wi-Fi is available all around the college, including all hostels and the campus. Each student gets a single room with a study desk, one wardrobe, and one bed. There is some chaos in the hostel area, but the food is very good. There are several stadiums for different sports.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are qualified, efficient, and helpful. They know us well and have years of teaching experience. The teaching quality is excellent, and I like the way they teach. I think the curriculum is adequate. The semester exam makes it easy to get high scores, and the pass rate is 73%.
