In addition to the regular MBA course, HPU also offers a two-year MBA through the International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning. Candidates who have passed a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST candidates) can apply for the MBA distance education mode. HPU MBA admission is entrance-based.

Himachal Pradesh University, Business School has a total intake of 120. Out of the total HPU MBA seats, 60 seats are under subsidised category, and the other 60 are under non-subsidised category. Subsidized seats are offered according to the category of the candidates while non-subsidiary seats are open to all.
