HPU MAT Exam Dates 2027: Registration, Admit card & Result Dates

The full form for HPU MAT is Himachal Pradesh University Management Aptitude Test. It is an management entrance test conducted by Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) for admission to MBA/PGDM programe of HPU Business School. Candidates seeking admision to Post graduate programe of HPU must appear for the exam. Candidates having score in national level management entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, etc. will not be considered for admission process. Candidates will be required to fill the application form to be eligible for appearing in group discussion and personal interview rounds. HPU MAT is conducted in once in a year. The exam date for HPU MAT is announced along with the release of notification.

Yes, the syllabus for CMAT and HPU MAT is same. Candidates preparing for CMAT will require revision during the HPU MAT exam. As per HPU MAT exam pattern, the question paper is divided into following sections viz., General knowledge, English language skills, Reasoning and numerical skills and Business environment awareness. Similarly, CMAT question paper is divided into the following sections  viz., Quantitative Techniques & Data interpretation, Logical reasoning, Language comprehension, General awareness, Innovation and entrepreneurship. Both HPU MAT and CMAT does not have sectional time limit. The number of questions vary in both the exams however te difficulty level of both exams is moderate to easy.

No, HPU MAT exam does not have sectional time limit to appear for the exam. However, students will be required to complete the exam in pre informed exam duration i.e, two hours/ 120 minutes and no extra time will be granted to the students under any circumstances. HPU MAT is a computer-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section only when the candidate clicks the next button. Candidates have to be mindful of the on-screen timer and pre-decide the number of questions to solve in each section as there will be negative markings. It is not mandatory to solve all the questions in HPU MAT exam so candidates can devise a strategy to use the exam duration as per their strength and weakness. Candidates must reach the exam centre at least an hour prior to complete the frisking formalities at the HPU MAT exam centre.

The HPU MAT questions are objective and carries multiple choices (MCQs). Each question will have four answer options. Candidates will have to select the correct answer option and click on it with the help of mouse. Since HPU MAT 2026 exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option. In case it is the correct option, they will get full marks, and in case of wrong answer, no negative marking scheme will be applied. Candidates must ensure the accuracy of the answer before selecting the answer. Before the final submission, they can change the answer option in case they realise that they have entered the wrong answer option earlier.
