IISc Bangalore BSc Highlights 2026
IISc Bangalore offers a four-year BSc (Research) programme divided into eight semesters. IISc Bangalore BSc is an interdisciplinary programme that includes one-year research project in the final year. A total of five major disciplines and 8 minor disciplines (optional) are offered as a part of the programme as follows:

STEP 2: Selection Process
Applications are screened for eligibility. Eligible applicants are selected for admission based on scores in either JEE Advanced or IISER Entrance Exam. Separate merit list of candidates will be prepared for each of these national exams. A candidate who has qualified in both exams will be included in all the appropriate merit list. Separate merit lists are prepared for candidates belonging to different reserved categories according to regulations of Government of India.
STEP 3: Counselling & Admission Confirmation
Selected students are called for counselling. Students need to get their documents verified. Documents that students must keep ready are Passport size photo, Signature, Class 10 Certificate & Marksheet, Class 12 Certificate & Marksheet, National entrance exam scorecard, Reserved Category certificate (if applicable). For seat confirmation, students are required to submit the admission fee amount.

Shraman Foundation has collaborated with IISc to offer scholarships to first year and second year BSc students whose family income is less than INR 2.50 lakhs. All eligible new applications are reviewed by Shraman Foundation, which includes phone call with the applicant. If required, second review is also done at a higher level.

IISc Bangalore BTech admission is based on JEE Advanced score. Admission is given through counselling by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Aspirants need to register for JoSAA counselling. No separate application is required to be submitted on the IISc admission portal.
