It was a pleasure to be a part of this esteemed university.

Placements: The course had 15 students out of which 11 was placed from the campus drive. The highest drawn salary from this department was around 5 Lacs p. a and the lowest was 3.6 Lacs p. a. the average range of salary offered was 4.2 Lacs p. a. one of the top recruiting company was Goldman Sachs apart from Infosys. The designation was either supervisor or assistant software engineer. Although the average c. t. c was around 4.2 Lacs p. a however most of the students in our course opted for higher studies or other government jobs (lecturer or psu). There wasn't any intern from our course.

Infrastructure: The department had Wi-Fi facility although the reliability wasn't that great. The classes were quite big to accommodate a full strength of 40 students. Library is perhaps one of the best attribute of this university. Digital and physical library is amply equipped. Hostel facility is given on first come first serve basis with a very low monthly fees compared to the market status. The quality of food was quite good as student representatives are kept to monitor the proceedings of the menu and quality. Medical facilities, canteens are there within the campus itself. Other facilities like banking service, atm is also there. The campus have a big ground that is maintained by the cricket association of Bengal.

Faculty: The best thing is certainly the quality of the faculty members available. They are not only qualified and knowledgeable but also extremely helpful and guide a student through the course as and when needed. The course structure is well built to render an application based knowledge to the students.

Other: Thermodynamics is a favorite of mine as it has ample application in day to day life. This interest provoked me to join this course. Such a course is of great importance to the industry as it has a direct impact on the environment. A direct collaboration with top industries might booster the course. Events and fests are conducted at regular intervals to entertain the students. Scholarship is provided by the Central Government to those students who qualify the GATE examination and take admission to the Masters course. The campus environment provides enough opportunity to inculcate other extracurricular activities out of the academic course.

Jadavpur University is an old and great place to gather knowledge.

Placements: There were various IT companies, and some of us got placed. Most of the students of the previous batch got placed in various IT firms. There were no power sector companies. So, it was not good years regarding placements in power sector for power engineers. Some colleges showed interest to employ some of us as faculty members, though they prefer people with PhD as faculty members.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure on the campus is good. All kind of equipment for necessary experimental studies are present. Some custom-made experimental set-ups are also there. The labs are well-maintained. Repair jobs in faulty instruments are carried out as soon as possible. The lab instructors are experts in their corresponding fields and always check the instruments before an actual lab-class begins.

Faculty: The faculty members are Good, and some of the faculty members are great. The way they teach is too good for a state gove. This is a funded college. But there are, of course, some useless and dumb teachers on the campus, but if I talk overall, the quality of teaching is good. The curriculum is great. With the help of the faculty members, one can learn much about a topic by following the curriculum.

Other: There is a fest, tech fest, sports, and all are called "events" are happening now and then on the campus. People from other colleges also take part in these events. You will get a scholarship for your masters, but not on a monthly basis. It will come once in 3 or 4 months, but the amount of money will be as per Indian government's promise.
