It is a very good institute to gain knowledge and enjoy your campus life.
Placements: Almost 40% of the students got placed in our course. The lowest salary package offered is 4 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 13 LPA. Almost 10% of the students take internship programs. Some students were selected for the scientist officer rank. Hyundai is the company whose campus in the institute selected the students in the first round but never came for 2nd round.
Infrastructure: All the required facilities were available in the departments. The canteen facility was average but the medical, sports and games facilities were excellent. Both indoor and outdoor games were available to play during the day and also at night. Sachin Tendulkar stadium and Dilip Tirkey Stadium are for cricket and football play.
Faculty: Professors were highly qualified, and the teaching style of some teachers was excellent except for a few. The pass percentage is good. Some of the professors were holding PhDs. They were also involved in big projects of the government of India.

I'm having a nice experience at this college. Both the hostel life and campus life are nice.
Placements: I can't explain about the placements as I haven't appeared for placements yet, but as per the placement records of the previous year, placements of the college are really good. Some excellent companies like Qualcomm and General Electric visit NIT Rourkela and provide the best placement opportunities for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is really good. Labs and classrooms are very well-furnished. We also have a very nice library. The hostel is also in good condition. Even the mess and food offered are good. There are many canteens available on the campus, which is really good.
Faculty: Faculty members of the college are very experienced, and they make the subject interesting. They give us various assignments and projects so that we can get a better idea about the subject and can be able to think out of the box. They are always dedicated to clear the doubts of students.

Amazing place to Learn and get groomed.
Placements: Placements are good as far as now, and for our senior batch it was pretty awesome. Almost 80% of the students were placed last year with a very handsome average CTC. As our seniors batch of Electrical department is concerned, the highest package was around 12-14 Lac p. a while average salary fluctuates around 6-8 lacs p. a. Most of the companies were of developer profile then there were analytics based firms. Many of the students with good academic record were selected for foreign internships in various programs like DAAD, MITACS, etc. We have a very good placement cell with very efficient working placement coordinators.
Infrastructure: N. I. T Rourkela is the second the largest campus in India, covering approximately 1100 acres in area and is very well maintained and organized in every aspect of maintenance, environment and hygiene. Every hall of residence, departments as well as other operational buildings are provided with Wi-Fi and LAN connection both, up with a very good speed internet connection. A very well ergonomically designed Library named as 'Biju Pattnaik Central Library', which is Odisha's the largest library. Every student of NITR is provided with almost free medical facility and cover up to Rs 1 Lac in case of Emergency. Our institute provides essential guidance and facility of sports and games to every student here and motivates us to participate and win in different sports fests across India. Hall of Residences are comfortably spacious with very good quality food is available to every student here.
Faculty: Faculty in NITR are adequately well qualified, knowledgeable and very helpful. They provoke and invoke students to get the real essence of the study. Teaching methods are very simple with practical demonstrations. Over 20 students to a faculty is the ratio prevailing in NITR. Industry exposure is dark side of NITR as the city Rourkela is not very well connected as Rourkela doesn't have airport.

Good infrastructure, faculty, and research, which deserves to be the top among NITs.
Placements: Placement scenario for our seniors (M.Tech) was not much good, but for B.Tech students, it was great. Only 20% of the students of M.Tech got placed in the college placements, and around 85% to 88% of the B.Tech students got placed in the college placements. Majority of the students showed interest in further studies of PhD in IITs. For electrical students, the highest package offered was 16.8 LPA, and the lowest salary offered was 3.3 LPA. The names of the companies can't be disclosed under our college placement rules, but one of the best companies visits our college for recruitment. The internship scenario for M.Tech was poor because our college regulations that guide us don't allow the students to do the same. Instead, they give summer work to do. There is a placement cell in NITRKL, and it is useful. Placement cell is formed by students, and it is organised by the college.
Infrastructure: No doubt, NITRKL is famous for its infrastructure through the country among NITS and is giving more competition to IITs. Our college is spread across approximately 648-acres, and it is the largest NIT in our country. There are 22 departments with high-class infrastructure, having excellent labs. Our college provides internet facilities during the college timing. The internet was blocked in the hostels, and it is given on Saturday, Sunday, and special holidays. To be honest, our college claims spending Rs. 50,000 on providing medical facilities per semester, but it pays only Rs. 2,000 per semester. They encourage and support students in sports and games. Every month, a games competition is held, and in addition to that, inter-hostel competitions are held every year. Every year, sports fest is organised in our college.
Faculty: According to me, faculty members in our college were excellent but not the best when compared to IITs. The teachers will guide you a lot, and it entirely depends on the mentality of the teachers. A few teachers are very helpful to gain knowledge but are very horrible, and they show status and power on the students. Every college has different faculty members with different mentalities. The teaching quality was superb. The teaching method mainly followed was self-learning with proper guidance which enhances the students to learn. Faculty to student ratio was 1:16, but ideally, it was 1:12 which was not bad. There is industrial exposure in the college, with world-class machinery in every department. The course curriculum was designed based on the technical point of view and advanced technologies.
Other: The fest organised in our college was the best in East India. It is the most significant among all the NITs but not popular because of its connectivity with other states. Frequently, there are no proper trains, and in this area, our college is lagging. Every month, different events are organised by the student body (SAC) which mainly takes cares of technical, sports, literature, and extracurricular activities. Students of B.Tech must join a club in the above four specialisations.
