Jamia Millia Islamia University prescribes the exam pattern for JMI entrance exam. The exam structure is framed by keeping the selection parameters for each course in mind. The JMI entrance exam pattern consists of number of questions, total marks, marking scheme, types of questions, exam duration, number of sections, question paper format and mode of examination. For UG course, candidates must have passed Intermediate with at least 50 per cent marks from any board. For PG course, graduate degree with at least 50 per cent marks from any recognised university is required.
The difficulty level of JMI entrance exam syllabus depends on the course. the JMI syllabus difficulty level for UG courses is moderate as most of the topics are related to Class 12 topics. No, there is no time limit to solve a section in JMI Entrance Exam. The total duration of the exam varies according to the course. Hence, on an average, candidates will get around five minutes for each MCQ. Candidates must keep a tab on the timing as JMI Exam is a time-pressed exam. Before the exam day, candidates are advised to prepare a time management strategy wherein a particular timing should be assigned for each section or subject. They must also note that they will not be given any extra time to complete the exam, nor will they be allowed to take breaks in between or leave before time.
No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions in JMI entrance exam. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating JMI score. So, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better not to answer instead of guessing, to avoid negative marking. Although candidates should attempt all questions in descriptive part and refrain from leaving questions.

The JMI Entrance Exam is conducted only once in a year. The Jamia Millia Islamia University conducts the Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam for admission to different Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PG Diploma Advanced Diploma, M.Phil Ph.D. and Certificate courses.
As per exam pattern for JMI entrance exam 2026 for MBA, there are three sections in question paper. These are Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English.
